  1. It's just a tv show...geez, take it easy. Also, I am sure he will not be doing anything he is not legally allowed to do.
  2. They are so different. I am just wondering, why would someone want to do both? What would your main focus be?
  3. Scam. Do not give out any of your personal info.
  4. LOL....if the best thing about graduating is getting her nails back, she sounds like a flake.
  5. This is a bad situation. I know you were only trying to help. When I have people like that and they refuse the bedpan and other cares...always go by docters orders. If he tried to get out of bed on his own later and you were not there...well, then you are no way responsible. Just an important lesson learned early on in your career.
  6. Being a CNA is okay....but I feel there is nothing else to learn about it. I get bored easlily.....
  7. I don't think my credit is anyones business.. I would not allow a hospital to go that far into my life...
  8. Wow, I am a CNA going to school and would never think to try something like that. Going to nursing school does not make you a nurse. I wonder what else they do when no one is looking.
  9. I think anything under a year is bad and you probobly wouldn't be able to use them as a reference. It's better to stay at a job.
  10. That is crazy. We don't even allow residents to come out and eat in their jammies. We also don't have any time restrictions as long as the job gets done. (But we breakfast is very casual and last for a few hours). I would love to see some of these people that makes these rules just do the job for one day and then see what happens.
  11. Wow, why would a nurse have such a bad attitude. They are NURSES for goodness sakes, not like they are a CEO of a big company or something. Geez, guess since they are the "higher" one when it comes to CNA and nurse, it makes them feel good to think they are something. In what universe is being a nurse a big deal that they say "read my nametag", I just had to laugh at this one!
  12. Are you kidding me? I would run fast and start looking for another job. They are taking advantage of you!
  13. Thanks. Looks like no matter how much I take, the payments may vary. I see what you guys mean now. I suppose before I take anything I get the details from where I get the loan. I didn't realise that there were so many different types of student loans until now. I better make an appointment with financial aid at school. Thank you.
  14. I have two jobs and work with both good and bad CNAs. I think some are burned out since they have worked so long. Many are very good, but I do see people that ignore the residents when they are wet or dirty and many that pass on showers as well. There are people you love to work with, then those you know are going to do a half ass job.
  15. Well,I know how much I will have to take. I was just trying to figure out if I should take out extra for living expenses. I think I will just take what I need and keep working my current schedule if it doesn't get to hard.
  16. Thank you both. $506 is alot, I'll have to be careful. (At least right now it seems like alot). I'll check out the website link...Thanks Commuter.
  17. I may have to take a loan for school. Just curious how much student loan debt you had after school and how much a month is it to pay back?
  18. Yeah, in the Minneapolis area the reputation is not that good for Rasmussen. They really "sell" their school hard and the the price is crazy. Just letting you know.
  19. Please see if your state has any kind of assistance...housing, food support, ect.
  20. Uggg, very sweaty here too! Everyday is like a workout! I do wear a cami underneath. Bad part is when I am not busy it is freezing because the AC is on so high. Guess I can't win.
  21. I was also surprised, but after working over a year in the real world I have found you will not have time to do every step as in class. You will be super busy, things will happen, people will fall, unexpected things will take more time than you thought...ect. Dirty linens on the floor is no biggie. I do always knock though and announce I am there (they all know me now), and usually chat while doing whatever I am doing. I care, but since there is so much to do and little time some things are not as important as others.
  22. I was told that before when I mentioned I do NOT want to work with kids. I do have 2 kids, but I don't care for kids besides my own. I see nothing good about working in peds and dealing with kids and their parents, the parents that think their child is the cutest thing in the world...ick. I will do my clinical to get through school, but it takes a special kind of person to want to take care of children.
