  1. filipino nurses should be speaking in english because they went and learn english in school so they have to apply this knowledge in english environment like work,this is a country of people speaking english...and yes they can speak their language but it has to be at home.Just a reminder you are in a country of people that their language is english
  2. you have to call the DON of that hospital and find out their protocol or guidelines in taking care of s/p TKA.I'm pretty sure its not the surgeon's order.Having skin breakdown at the hospital is common now a days because lack of care.
  3. It is well said and its only the philippines could actually straighten or change the system.united states has got nothing to do with it...they have to start on people in higher position.....

    they say if you start with one tattoo you will want another one...then three...and still your not satisfied...how about you start with syringe then stethoscope then tounge depressor then bed pan until you can look at your body like medical piece....i'm not very helpful isnt it....sorry.....
  5. i am kind confused of what drug you are trying to legalize....if its controlled DEA is on top of that right now believe me........there are regulations,policies covering the issues on drugs....
  6. you even have to make sure the patient swallow his or her medications if refused do not leave it at the bedside.....waste it and document the reason for refusal, just my 2 cents advise.
  7. document....document....founded or unfounded, abuse and neglect statement you have to treat it like it happened...when you reported it to your adon that responsibility is already hers....
  8. i like what ROSER 13 said its 2011 not 1811 you put a smile on my face,you go for it and you will be one of a heck excellent nurse....
  9. oh! NO...DIGNITY AND RESPECT IS THE LAST THING THAT YOU WILL SERVE TO THAT HUMAN BEING...if i have to pay for the gown i will....
  10. you have to check staffing regulation,in my facility a licensed nurse ratio is 1:40 at night.Day shift is 1 to 30 residents, long term care must be in compliance with staffing ratio to meet the residents needs.

    :yeah::yeah:job well done.....
  12. right practice is to call the physician any time you can not administer the ordered meds. you should not run out if its routine meds.refill 3 days before,should be available in each station e kit. which your pharmacy can provide.Your don can actually take care of those simple issues.Do not borrow medications substandard practice and its your license not anybody else protect it......
  13. in my work nurse can only attempt to do peripheral line 3x if you cant get it send them for picc line at the hospital that way res. can keep it longer because for peripheral line you have to change site every 3 days.you have to be patience and take time.
  14. according to infection control definition is airborne and i dont blame you for panicking but you have time to prevent it,either call the department of health or your physician so they can start screening,remember tuberculosis is treatable.
