I've been a CRNA for 10 years and I believe CRNA school is very do-able. I had a 2.8 gp a(undergrad) and 3.6 GPA (started NP school), 3.8 GPA (CRNA school), 3.9 in DNP. Im not a smart person, Im just very determined and resourceful. If you are determined to pass youll find a way to do it whether it involves studying for hours or writing poems to remember clinical pearls (thats how I did it). I tell students all the time, don't make this more complicated than it needs to be. I hope that helps. The impossible is NOTHING.

Yes it is. Probably the hardest thing ive ever done.... but its do able, there were several people in my class with children and they got thru just fine.

i think its doable, it might take a while and it wont be easy, but its very doable. I use to work @ taco bell(17yrsold), now im in anesthesia school (26 yrs old). you miss 100% of the shots you DONT take

im 26 but there is a 24 yr old in my program

yea i was thinking about this also. i was accepted into 2 different schools, 1 school i can live 10 mins driving to class but live 3 hours from family. my other option is to live with my family and travel 1.5 hours each way. which option would you pick?

+++++1. good comment. try ICU youll probably love it.You havent worked a day as an RN yet so i feel like its too early to decided you want to change professions. Youll be surprised @ how much experienced CCRNs know.

Hey so I'm going to CRNA school this fall. I read all the posts and blogs about how hard crna school is. Its very intimidating i must say, but it seems "do-able". I know many people with many other obligations other than school (kids, spouses, etc.) who get through CRNA school fine. I also have friends in CRNA schools right now who study the 8-10 hours a day but still have time to hang out with their friends and go out!!!! I truly believe with good time management and dedication, CRNA school will be do-able.

first time applying, i also applied to 3 other schools still waiting to hear from them

25 yrs old, 3.2 under grad gpa, took 21 credits in grad gpa 3.7, gre 1020, ccrn, bsn, 4 yrs rn experience (graduated @ 21, 2 yrs in icu). finaly got accepted!!! im intinimated by reading all the blogs of srnas studying 12 hours a day...but then i think about it, thats how long i spend @ work. plus i wont be working while in school, its school will kinda be like my full time job. when i thinkof it like this it doesnt sound so intimidating. Most people say its one of the hardest things theyve ever done, but they still say its do-able. I have a co worker how went to crna school while pregnant!!!! i look @ her as an inspiration, telling myself if she could do with a child, then i have NO excuse without any kids!!! well good luck, hope all goes well!!

i got a 1020 on my gre. i really thik you should take some grad level courses. during my interview the specifically pointed that out, asking why i took those courses. i said "well i wanted to be an NP but had a change of heart... and plus my hospital was paying for 100% of those courses so WHY NOT?!!"

Yea I'm a guy too hahaha, I also did poor in maternity. To make up for my poor maternity grade, my clinical instructor had me do a presentation on breast feeding..... I'm not kidding, imagine a 19 year old kid teaching women how to breast feed. Anyways, my undergrad sciences were mostly As and B+. After some experience I was accpeted into a ANP program, I took all the required classes prior to clinicals (adv. Pharm, adv nursing research, adv. PAtho, adv.health assessment....). But this time around I got almost all A+. My intention was to go to crna school all along , I just had to somehow increase my overall GPA. My under grad 3.2 doesn't look good but my ccrn and 3.7 graduate gpa definitly looks good.

I just got accepted into a schoool, my under grad grades were barely a 3.2 but I took 21 credits in grad school with a 3.7 gpa. Ccrn, all cpr certifications, and 2 yrs icu experience @ a well known hospital. I got a 1020 on my gre, and iduring the interview I could barely think cos I was so sick(cough cough). I didn't think I'd get in due to my low under grad gpa, but they mentioned how they liked the fact that I showed a stronger gpa in my grad classes showing maturity!!!best of luck to you!
