  1. Yep, I took A&P SCIT online. Very good class, imo. So amazingly easy, to me anyway. It was one of the few classes I have enjoyed taking. Learned a lot. Wished most classes were like this one. I dedicated a good amount of time to reading/studying the material and the labs are online as well. I thought it was really cool. Only time u had to go to campus was to take the exams. I believe it was 3 exams for that class.
  2. Hi baby_ladybug! I'm in the Dallas area too. I'm going the ADN route and then later go with the RN - BSN program at TWU. I will be applying for the Fall 2012 enrollment at El Centro, but taking most classes at North Lake (El Centro's satellite campus). The cost is what ultimately determined what I was going to do. Community college is the best choice for me at this time. So, if you are looking to keep the cost down, the community college is the way to go. Also if you go for either an ADN or a BSN, you will be an RN when you're done.
  3. The support courses are the other non-nursing courses that you would be taking while in the nursing program at El Centro. These include Microbiology, Speech, Dev. Psych. and a humanities class. I can't remember if there is another one, but they are listed in the info packet.
  4. I'm a pre-nursing student. I have only one pre-req left to take and I'm also going to be taking a support course this coming fall semester. So far the courses have been okay. I've gotten A's and a B in the pre-reqs I have taken. I'm so proud of that because I was in college before(long time ago), and just didn't study and focus on classes like I was supposed to. Huge mistake. Anyhoo, I'm back on track and ready to do this. I was planning on applying to an ADN program. But recently, I started looking into some BSN programs. Not sure what to do at this point. Eventually, I would want to get the BSN. I know I could go for the ADN for now, and then do a RN-BSN program. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
  5. Yes, I'm an organ donor. It's nice knowing that when I die, I'll still help people.
  6. Yes, it makes sense. I plan on doing just that and will work as a CNA part-time while in school. The experience will be beneficial, for sure.
  7. I'm a future nurse, and I have to say that your article certain helps me. It is very encouraging. I have a feeling that I will be revisiting your post again for that pick me up. Thanks so much! :)
  8. You can totally do it!! If I can take a condensed A&P class and get an 'A', I know anyone can do it. I work full-time too and I can be so lazy, but I stayed focused.
  9. I never really considered becoming a nurse until about 4 or 5 years ago. I just knew I didn't want to do what I was doing for so long, which was going nowhere. I remember that when I was about 7 yrs old, I had to get my tonsils taken out. Had to stay at the hospital for a day, I think. The nurses there were awesome. They took really good care of me and made the hospital quite pleasant and even fun. I don't remember the doctor, but I remember the nurses that were there for me. That says a lot. Nurses impact people's lives more than people realize. I want to help people, and becoming a nurse will help me do that in a lot of different ways. I'm so excited and can't wait to start nursing school.
  10. Yay!! Congratulations!
