Holding diuretics, beta-blockers, and nitrate when there are no parameters
WOW!......I think the point was made quite clear. In skilled nursing. The nurses should not just hold an order. If they feel as thought the BP is too low they must call a provider for approval, and she didn’t seem to be criticizing. smile! She is not judging. Her tone is quite clear. She is asking for advice and guidance.

Question about prescriptions
Sadly this is what our world has come to. When people are truly I pain. They cannot get pain relief! I had a c-section! And was not given anything when discharged. I was shocked! Stomach cut wide open and nothing.

Nursing Homes. The bodies are just pilling up.
I just read an article about a New Jersey nursing home that was storing a body in the shed, and when police arrived they discovered 17 bodies in a small morgue meant for 4 bodies. All around my state I keep hearing all residents and staff positive along with several deaths at each facility already. Mind you this isn't in the news! LTC/CCRC are a small community and word gets out. When did the generation that helped build this country become to expendable? Yes, us LTC nurse might not be on the front line, but we are fighting a silent battle, and no one can hear us. The amazing nurses who are on the front line can barely get proper PPE . So how can we? Imagine the virus coming into your home. Thats what it is like for these residents. We are their salvation, but might also be their end....Stay strong everyone!!

Nursing homes and Covid-19. Storms a coming
How are all the LTC nurse doing out there!! What are some things your facilities are doing to protect staff and residents. Our place went on lock down pretty early, but were are a huge CCRC, and sadly some of our IL resident aren't taking this seriously and continue to leave on a regular basis. I just feel like we are sitting on a ticking time bomb, and just one positive case could do some serious damage.

Has anyone left nursing job due to COVID19 virus?
I’m currently only every other weekend. I’m not picking up any extra hours. I feel very guilty that my coworkers are suffering, but I have to also think of my family.

Rude nurses
Wow! It doesn’t matter how long the OP was a nurse. They were still a NURSE. Useless response.

Feeling embarrassed, ask the md a stupid question
Don’t beat yourself up! That’s how we learn. Trust me I’m sure your going to ask more and more “stupid” questions while learning, and than will come the day when you school the doctor! That’s a great feeling! Hahah
