  4. Hi Emily, I am a nurse with 2.5 years of experience on a tele floor and I have accepted a position in L&D. I also feel I got the job for several reasons like being bilingual, being involved and in school. I'll be transferring soon. Any suggestions for me?

  15. $23.50 in dallas texas
  16. I'm glad to hear you will be in a med surg floor. I have worked GI/GU for the past 3 1/2 yrs as a patient care tech I wanted something a little different. But you will learn so much and by the time you want to transfer somewhere else you will be well trained on a variety of things. You will get to see plenty of JP drains (Jackson Pratt), wound vac, colostomy, nephrostomies, NG tubes, etc just depending on what med surg department!! Keep me posted on your upcoming internship and I wish you the best of luck!!! Me and my bf just got our first apartment and now where doing furniture hunting, it can get a little intense. But were trying to have fun with it!!! I can't wait to be on the cardiac unit. But I have two wks of orientation.
  17. -luckylefty87 Congratulations, I am glad you found something!! I just started my orientation today. It was ok but long. I have to do 2 wks of it. Im dreading it but I shouldn't complain. I should be happy that I have a job and passed Nclex and now I am an RN! Whoo hoo!! I got hired on a cardiac tele floor how about you? Have fun while you have time..
  18. I found out that I passed my NCLEX rn exam. I studied Davis Q&A 2010. It has the new applied testing stuff that started in April. This book is awesome, that is all I studied. It had plenty of select all which some what prepared me. Stay calm, breath, relax, and go with ur first instinct. Believe in your self and stay positive!! The day before the test try to do things you enjoy and away from your study material. It worked for me.. Good luck!!
  19. lucklefty87 I live in texas and from what I know my classmates and I did not have trouble finding a job. Maybe you should try other cities near by, home health, nursing home, clinics, etc. Stay positve and hang in there. keep us posted
  20. lucklefty87 I took my Nclex rn on June 29 and just found out that I passed. I am very happy. I too did the same prayed in my car, went to the bathroom and tried to stay calm throughout the test and it worked. About two days before my test date I came across your post. And I am very grateful that you posted that infection control mnemonic. I had tons of those those type of questions. Thank you for your POST!! You sure did relieve me
  21. I agree the Davis Q&A book is the best. I did questions from the cd and the book for about 2 1/2 weeks and it worked, I passed NCLEX. I am an now an RN. I took my boards on June 29 and found out my results on the July 1st. This book has very very good questions similar to Nclex. By the way Davis Q&A has a lot of SATA so you can practice and practice. It has over 5000 practice questions. I will definately suggest it!! Other books I had did not have any or few select all that apply. Plus this book is about $45 and it is well worth it.
  22. Never mind i found the mneumonic.. Thanks for the info.
  23. Congrats. Luckylefty87!! You are so inspiring to nurse test takers. I take my test on the 29th of this month and anxiety is starting to kick in. But I will definately try to stay positive and calm at the same time. :) I have a question, what is the infection control mnemonic and what is the meaning behing it? I tried looking for it but just didn't find it.
