  1. I would say to definitely be prepared for behavioral based questions and a few clinically based ones. Overall I was surprised at the smoothness of the interview. It did not feel like a high pressure situation.
  2. 1. State you work in: CA 2. Years of experience: New Grad 3. Specialty/unit and work setting (clinic, hospital, prison, etc): Cardiothoracic PCU 4. Hourly Pay (base rate) or salary: 47.92 (50.32 after 6 months) 5. Differentials (if any) $6 evening/night 6. Union: CNA
  3. As a big proponent of the Pearson Vue Trick, I will tell you that you should definitely wait 24 hours before putting any emotion into the trick for your situation. I have seen so many testimonials that I cannot even count them. If there is a case where you don't get the good popup initially but do so later, it's when individuals go all the way to 265. Your test will be scored a second time some time within 24 hours after you have completed it. That second scoring will determine your fate and not necessarily what the computer determined initially. Good luck!!!
  4. Yea I noticed that. For me and all my classmates that I talked to it worked just fine. I can see telling people not to completely rely on it, but to not give it any credit at all, I just don't understand.
  5. If you'd like to discuss this further please feel free to PM me. Otherwise, I feel you are too much on the defense right now to have this discussion on the board. Thanks.
  6. I assure you there was no "attacking" going on here. It's quite difficult to judge inflection on a message board.
  7. No real issue with you. We can discuss this like grown ups. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I firmly believe the PVT works and you believe it doesn't work. We can just leave it at that.
  8. I'm not the one calling others out for arguing. Quit while you're behind.
  9. So you argue with him because he argues with everyone? You know what they say about two wrongs, right?
  10. Yes because you were just pointing out the fact that another member was involved in three different threads with the topic. All this and I myself see you on two separate threads arguing with him/her. But wait, you aren't the only one discussing the PVT? I never realized that. I thought you were the lone soul on this earth speaking of this matter.
  11. You're in at least two arguing the same topic!!
  12. Hello and thank you for the information. I appreciate your input but I honestly was already aware of that information. What I was referring to in regards to individuals that run out of time or go to all 265 questions is that their exam is not scored based on the 95% confidence interval rule and thus it is possible that their pass/fail status may change after the second scoring. For someone that passes or fails via the 95% confidence rule it seems that the second scoring is only a formality or quality check. Every time I come across someone who claims the PVT was inaccurate is someone who's test was scored with either the R.O.O.T rule or the maximum-length exam rule, which are applicable for those that run out of time and those who receive 265 question, respectively. Then there are other cases where people simply don't do the trick correctly and get an alternate message which may be due to an incorrect expiration date. In that case I personally view the situation as user error and not PVT inaccuracy.
  13. You are pretty argumentative. I'm done with this conversation. Good luck.
  14. That means they didn't do it correctly. This person didn't even say what the message actually said.
  15. Putting the wrong expiration date doesn't always work.
  16. The PVT does work and I will tell you why. Some people do feel that they get a false "good pop-up," however you have to look deeper into the situation to figure out what's going on. I have seen many consistencies with the PVT. Those who have said that they received the good pop up right after their test and later found out they failed either ran out of time or had all 265 questions. In these cases you have to wait 24 hours for the exam to be scored a second time. You always have to consider the accuracy of the statement that someone is presenting. For instance, Pearson changed their system to where everyone gets taken to the CC page. Many people still to this day do not realize this, which they think they failed. Others think they have the good pop-up but in reality it said that their results were on hold, which is not the good pop-up. I had a friend call me in a complete mental breakdown because she said the PVT didn't work and she failed. I asked her some questions about what she did. A short time later her anxiety was relieved as I brought it to her attention that everyone goes to the CC page now!

  18. You can probably get a job real quick if you know someone on the inside. If not, it could be a long and difficult process. I've seen it on both ends. I've seen people get a job a week after they graduate and I've also seen folks looking for over a year and eventually just move out of state. Your best bet is to do a travel assignment out here and turn that into a offer down the road.
  19. If you all really think about it, why would it take you to #76 and shut off after that question after you got it right other than because you passed? If you with absolute certainty got #76 right, why else would it shut off if it determined you failed? In other words, if you are still in the game you won't get kicked out for getting a question right.
  20. Your scores are much better than mine and I passed in 75. However keep in mind that it's still a good idea to do as many questions and expose yourself to as much material as possible. All in all though, those are pretty much mind boggling scores for Kaplan (in a good way).
  21. Don't give up hope folks. Myself along with many others did not receive an invite for an interview until very late in the process. Personally I received my offer less than two weeks till the start date. At one point I had completely given up as I watched some classmates get interview invites. Be patient and hope for the best!!
  22. Sorry that you were given incorrect information.
  23. Those are AWESOME numbers for the south!!
  24. Well, they are definitely interviewing candidates. I should also note that they typically interview candidates all the way up until a couple of weeks before the start date for each cohort. Please do keep in mind however that because your application says "routed," doesn't confirm that a manager has received your application or that yours has actually been routed at all. The application statuses are extremely generic; they apply to the whole group in general and not on a specific individual basis.
