  1. Me Either CNM2B and if they have acrylic nails I don't want them anywhere near my food either. Honestly I don't even think they look pretty. They're so thick and un-natural looking..........had em once when I was about 16. Now I justlet my nails go natural, heck I don't even wear polish, too much trouble, but my nails look really nice........
  2. CONGRATULATIONS:roll :balloons:
  3. Maybe i shouldn't have used the term "emotional attachment" , but couldn't think of better way to put it at the time. I'm just a little worried about being in a situation where I have taken care of someone and gotten to know the family and then the patient passes. Gator, bless you, your post is exactly what i'm talking about.I know for sure that I could not work in LTC setting. I appreciate all replys, I'm sure I'll find a place where I'm needed and can do a good job without too much heartache.........just want to help make others lives better by being there for them and being a good nurse.:)
  4. lord help me, this will be on my mind for days to come, unbelievable:o
  5. Anyone?????????????
  6. this is so sad.........may God be with their friends and families.
  7. I just wanted to get your opinions about what areas of nursing I should consider going into. I'm worried about situations where I would maybe see the same patints on a daily basis and I don't want to get too emotionaly attatched with my patients. My Mom worries about me going into Nursing. She says I'm too soft hearted. I can't wait to start school(jan. 2005). I figured that when we do clinical rotations I will know more what direction I'm headed in. Anyhoo, thx for any and all replies/ advice.
  8. It's more than likely just swollen mammory glands. This happened to me during one of my pregnancys. It can't hurt to have it checked out tho, better safe than sorry.......Try not to stress too much, not good for the baby and CONGRATULATIONS to you:)
  9. Wow, those Lands End mocs do look nice. I was actually checking out shoes online yesterday and the "Jasmine" Rockers by Cherokee look very nice and are supposedly very lightweight and comfy for $50-$60.
  10. I don't know who they surveyed but from waht i've read on these forums the average pay is not as good as it looks from this article???
  11. hey that reminds me, do any hospitals provide a place (dressing room) to shower and change at the end of a shift. If they don't, they should. I know I would make good use of it. I hate the thought of bringing germs into my vehicle and my home. Hmmm............does anyone know of any studies that have been done on the immune system of Nurses, Dr.s, hospital staff...............How do they keep from getting sick All the time?
  12. yeah, they look cute and all but I was concerned about functionality. I guess they may be better suited for working in a Dr.s office, not in a hospital setting.
  13. Hello and good day everyone. I was just curious about the capri style scrubs. Does anyone wear them to work, how do you like them?
  14. hmm.........I'll have to get a calendar. Very interesting, i could swear the admissions office told me that it would be 18 mos. The last class at Natch started last Aug. and they will graduate, I'm guesing this Dec. since the new class starts in Jan., thats 16 mos..........??????? Heck, I don't know, guess I'll find out for sure next week.........I'll let you know, Lord I hope it doesn,t take longer than 18 mos..........If it does I'll deal with it tho:crying2: thx again.........

  16. Wow, i'm really lucky in the tuition dept. It's $333.00 a sememster at LTC. Of course that doesn't include books and other supplys, uniforms etc. So all total my tuition will be $999 for the entire program and thats good because I don't qualify for grants and I dont want to borrow any money. I will be so.......happy when Jan. gets here and I get started. It seems like a long time but it'll be here before i know it.............:) :) :)

  18. thanx Godswill, i appreciate any encouragement I can get. So, when do you start school? And where are you going? I should have gotten on the list when I took the TABE but Jan.2005 seemed so long to wait that wanted to check all my options and waited too long so had to take the compass:angryfire . O'well, god works in mysterious ways, hopefully everything will work out for the best.........Good Luck to you........

  20. I took the TABE test last Oct. and scored 12.9 on all parts but was contemplating attending at the Mansfield campus, their new class started May 24.Well when I contacted them they informed me that I had to take the Compass, I did and scored great on Reading(99) and Writing(93), but didn't score high enough on the Math.I got a 39 and needed a 47 to get in so I have to take that part over:angryfire . Now i am so........nervous about taking it over. If I fail again i would really have anxiety over taking it a third time. I'm so worried about it already that I keep putting it off. I'm just gonna wait for the Holiday to be over, study for a week, and go take it over........and in the meantime pray,pray,pray.........Anyway, thanks for your replies , I just wanted to know how you liked the program. I know that the Shreveport campus has a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, but I'm not sure about Natchitoches campus. Oh, and it's an 18 month program and the next class starts Jan. 2005.

  25. You are the best. I love reading your posts. IMO everyone needs someone like you in their life. I think if you were my neighbor you would have to make me leave your house. I'm sure that your family and friends realize how blessed they are to have such a positive person in their life. You are wise and very funny. Keep up the good work.
