I don't know what exactly they are looking for but throughout my entire program, they focused on spiritual care and care for the underserved population. When I was there, FNP program on the main campus was hard to get in. Everyone told me that I would not have any issue to land a job if I did not mind taking a pay cut. Turned out it was way harder than I expected. I don't quite agree to take a pay cut because it basically allows employers to keep getting lower each time they hire a NP. As for APU being your preference school, I would really ask myself again what you are looking for from the program if I were you. I live 50 miles away from the main campus, I don't like driving but to me, it's doable because it's only once a week for the lecture. However, it is really difficult to find a clinical placement that keeps in mind you may be placed in a clinic that is far away from the campus. Hope this helps! Vikki

I graduated Dec 2018. I have a very heavy load besides school because I am in the sandwich generation. I started in Spring 2016 and finished in Fall 2018. I had a part-time and a per diem job. My per diem was very flexible that didn't require me to work every week. Most of us either did that or just per diem (the ones who didn't need medical benefit from work). It was definitely not easy but doable.

So u have a MSN already? I will start mine on the main campus as well but not sure if I will have the same class at the same time since you are post master. Congrats! Vinnie

Congrats!!! So I couldn't wait & had been trying to get a hold with the program coordinator. Finally got a hold after calling 5x & the answer is yes, I got accrpted! Yay! I'll be starting at the main campus in spring 2016! vikki

I applied for the FNP program for the main campus & was told I would know whether I got in or not by the end of this month. I was never able to log into home.apu.edu. Today I got an email stating my a/c status has changed so I tried to log in again & this time I was able to log in & maneuver all the way to my academic page Does that mean I am in officially? I am nervous! I tried to get a hold of the Program Rep but unable to so far. Until I see some wordings like "you are accepted"! I won't 100% believe I am in. Any thoughts?

I consider myself very lucky to land myself a job w/in a month after i got my lic but I started to look ever since I graduated. My suggestion would be keep trying. Call or even go to the HR/ nursing recruitment of the hospitals to ask if they hire new grads b/c there are some that list exp required but they will consider new grad if your resume catches their eyes.

Depends on where in Cali. I don't think they have a new grad program in So Cal but i heard there's 1 in Nor Cal

Do you mind telling me the name of this/these agency(ies). I can also multilingual. I got my license last month & graduated since Dec 2009. Has been looking for a job since I graduated but no luck at all. My husband losthis job as well & he's having a hard time to find a job (not in the same industry). I don't know how we can get by next month. I really need a job desperately.

Took my Nclex-RN on 6/28 in CA. Got all 265 questions. I got at least 23 SATA. I must be really bad on those. It took me 5 hours with 3 breaks. I had to drink coffee & take Excedrin on my 2nd break for my headache. Went home & logged onto the Pearsonvue website already. it took about 2 hrs to finally see "deliver sucessful". Got the good pop-up. Couldn't believe my eyes & redid it million times & it was still the same. Finally just see my name on the BRN websiteat 3a. Now I can finally have a goodnight sleep & do massive job hunting later today. Can't wait to get my actual lic.

From what i've seen so far, all the residency programs require their applicants pass the Nclex & have lic in hand by the time the program starts.

How was it this time comparing to Feb? Is it a lot harder?

Can you tell me if it's possible to retake on the 46th day since it seems to take sooooo long for CA BRN to mail the official letter that i failed? Also Do i also need to pay $200 when register?

Just wondering, do u need to pay Pearson Vue $200 again when u retook it?

My classmates took hers on 3/12 & she said it was similar to Kaplan's but all my other classmates who took it on or after 3/22 said it's nothing like Kaplan. I wonder if they change the pool of questions. I feel so horrible cuz i initiately scheduled mine on 3/11 but rescheduled cuz i didn't feel ready. If i really don't pass, I'll demand my $$$ back from Kaplan

I took Kaplan...but the questions that i had are not anywhere similar to Kaplan's at all & i'm not the only 1 saying that.

U have to use your existing a/c otherwise the test that u took won't show up

Very attractive to me. I grew up there. Currently in So Cal but thinking about to move back up? How's the market there? I heard there's no shortage at all up there. Is that true?

I took mine on 26th. Tried the PVT & got all the way to cc page. Checked the BRN website this morning & didn't see my name. Should I just assume that i failed? I got around 80 questions. I stopped keep tracking once it passed 75 so i only the machine shut off a little after. I got very little application questions & SATA(maybe less than 5 each) quite a lot of priority, delegation & medications (& those meds questions were surely a beast).

How about is there anyone has passed the Nclex but was able to get to the "payment" page when trying to re-register?
