  1. I had to have frequent PEth tests while monitoring. I had a history of positive etg tests without drinking. The average results came back aprrox 7-10 days. The shortest was 5 day and the longest was 3 weeks. All negative. I was stressed every time waiting. Sometimes it said partial -result, before final results. I spent a lot of money on testing. PEth testing helped me complete IPN.
  2. I have never heard of any tests for baclofen. I had to drug test for 2 different state monitoring and baclofen wasn't a drug tested. I know its a muscle relaxant. Did you test positive for another medication? Gabby
  3. If you look back at my posts. I have a long history of testing positive for etg(without drinking) since 2006 when it first started being used....I spent a lot of money and never figured out what caused my positives. I never had a positive PEth. I was placed on fluconazole for possible gut fermentation. I don't know if it helped, I do know I never drank. Good luck
  4. South Carolina probably notified any states that you hold a license. They can charge you with (having discipline on a license in another state). Most states have rules that state they can place a mark on your license for having discipline in another state. Its a normal step BON take if you were reported to the BON. Gabby
  5. When I had blood PEth test, after a couple of days it would report partial test result. Then after a couple of days, it would post (negative). It is still being tested. Don't worry
  6. Yes I am out. I had a hair test another PEth test. Actually had my blood test result as abnormal, after stressing over a weekend. The lab made a mistake, it was normal. Abnormal means low or high creatinine.(urine only) But I did complete. I only had extra tests because I had an abnormal with in the last year.
  7. When I have had blood test(PEth) and any other special panels, it will say "partial test result" before resulting in negative. Affinity has resulted my blood test was abnormal/or dilute and I had a test result say invalid........... I called Mary the drug specialist and they corrected the results to negative. I never got an explanation, other then they made a mistake. Gaby
  8. When I had blood test with IPN Usually PEth test. It will read partial result , then it would result in 2-5 days. Some times it would go from test received then then result negative. It depends how often I am checking on results. O-panel are special panels and can result from 4-day to 2 weeks.
  9. I wish they did that for other states. Florida is 2-3 tests a month for 5 years. I heard CA has increased up to 4-5 a month for 3 years
  10. The results can be anywhere from 5 - 9 days for results. Also it might say test received (partial-result). That is normal when its in testing.
  11. Yes, it is for PEth. I never had a problem with false positive for this test. I had a long history of false positive etg, never could find the cause. Supposedly PEth is more accurate and has less false positive(or innocent exposure) I have heard of other IPN participants receiving this test if they had a dilute or abnormal urine. It can test for alcohol consumption/exposure for 3 weeks
  12. If you leave California probation before completion, whatever time left will be "tolled" meaning stopped until you return to California to complete. California does not give you credit for other states programs. It is standard for all probation contracts.
  13. I left Ca to Florida and had to complete another 5 years. But it depends on the state and on your history. I have heard of KY on this site but rarely from Ohio or WV.
  14. Hope your eval went well.
  15. Don't surrender your license. I am from California. I had no choice but surrender my RN license when I moved to Florida. ( already bought a house hubby retired was moving to Florida, planned before issues with California license) I entered IPN in Florida just completed 5 years. Because I surrendered my license in California, its considered discipline. Info is sent to Nursys, National practioner board. Some are on a medicare exclusion list (OIG) I thought since I wasn't on that list I was fine. I just found out I am on California med-cal exclusion list) Can't work for any hospital or office that works with the state of California medi-cal program. My initial issue was from 2006. I wish California would take my Florida completion of their program as evidence of completion of Probation. California is a difficult state. I don't know if teaching has you going to doctors office and or hospital facility. You might be able to teach, good luck..
  16. Yes propofol can be tested, but it is an add on test. How does your ex know that your not being tested for DOC? Fentanyl and propofol aren't usually on most drugs testing. Each state drug panel is different and they can add on extra if needed. Just because quest post general "health care provider panels" doesn't mean thats what you test looks like. MedPro-Final.pdf Gabby
  17. Any use of drugs, small or large is referred to Florida IPN. You said you "slipped", you are lucky if they give you 2 years. Most get 5 years contracts now. It sucks and I don't think everyone deserved IPN. This is how most states deal with any complaints regarding nurses. I know of nurses who got 2 year contract with a negative drug screen, but had appeared impaired at work. It will go quick, most 2 year contracts can get out within 1 year if they are 100% compliant. Good Luck Gabby
  18. I was in diversion in california and it is more restrictions inititially, but once you find a job its the same. When you are finished with diversion and want to move or become a traveling nurse you do not have disclose because its not past discipline. Probation is past discipline in California. Yes probation is easier to deal with and you are able to work right away. But if you ever want to be a travel nurse and or move states, most will make you enter there states monitoring program because of past discipline.( even if you have completed probation and it was 20 years ago)...... Also it will show up on NURSYS forever. Also it is very hard to further your career in nursing especially advance nurse practitioner. Most require clear license to enter there program. I completed my BSN while in diversion. When I was in diversion most nurses were able to work within a year some within 6 months. Plus when you go for jobs your license is active clear. Human resources have become difficult to get around with anything on your license. If you didn't do any thing wrong then get a lawyer, but you said you overdosed. That is a reason for monitoring to check for your safety as a nurse. Gabby
  19. Why do you have to wait for brn to investigate. I thought you received a letter that offered diversion program. If you accept that the brn does not investigate. If you don't respond to diversion letter then it can be referred to ca brn. That can be from 6 months to 2 years. Then you will be offered a stipulated agreement of probation. Gabby
  20. I agree with happy. I was in Ca diversion. Only left due to moving but didn't complete which placed discipline on my license forever. Having low pay or no pay for 6 months to a year is better then losing your license. It will go by fast. I have been doing this for over 10 years about to complete Florida 5 year program. I wish California would accept time served in Florida, but they don't. Just take care of yourself. It sounds like you just became a nurse. Just do what you did to survive financially before your nursing job Gabby
  21. They will mandate any one with depression/pscyh/addiction/dui/and one time overdose. I hate the name of "Diversion" program. Not all of the nurses in these program have addiction or substance abuse. There are nurses that have multiple problems that are mandated into this "voluntary" program. It sucks but they are protecting the public. When you fight the BON offer of Diversion program your file will go in front of the BON and referred to Attorney General of California. If you read the guidelines of nursing rules and regulation, you can be disciplined and placed into the "probation" or enforcement part of California program by not following the BON recommendation. There are times when a nurse needs a lawyer and has been falsely accused of something. But this program isn't just for addiction. Its also for nurses who make one time mistakes. It sucks. Gabby
  22. California diversion usually doesn't nursing return to work from 6 months to a year. I applied for state disability, was easy to get. The money you receive is based on past 3 years of salary. My md had to fill out paperwork. California probation program is for nurses applying for Rn license who have past history, like dui. Probation nurses are allowed to work asap. But there is discipline he on license.
  23. Yes diversion is perfect for you. That is California program that is not discipline. When you complete it will be off your record. Good luck Gabby
  24. Good luck. I should be out soon too.
  25. I heard the send out paperwork approx 2 months before completion. Have you called your case manager? Gabby
