  1. I applied to a Frontier for the WHNP track, but I noticed the job market in my area wanted FNPs even for women's health positions. I switched to FNP and I'm learning everything I need for women's health practice.
  2. I love frontier and in my opinion if you're going to do WH/CNM FNU is the place to go!
  3. I love Frontier! I'm in my 5th term of the FNP program.
  4. Essential oils are still fragrances and chemicals, there are also unscented fragrances that are used to mask odors in products. I have severe allergy to all fragrances my body does not know the difference.
  5. Essential oils are fragrances and can cause headaches. Before I found out I had allergies I used Levander a lot.
  6. The U.S. does not ban any parabens. Also some fragrances are odorless. In the US "fragrance" can include anything they want, it's not regulated at all. Some of you think it's funny to joke around about parabens but there are people like myself who are allergic (not sensitive) to them. It's very difficult to shop for products that I can use and that actually work and yes finding a deodorant that works is almost impossible. Please don't make fun of people for this it's hard enough living with it and not being able to purchase most cosmetics. Im very active in environmental health policies in my state. If this is something that's new to you or you don't understand it, I would suggest doing some research. for example look into what they replaced BPA with?
  7. I missed passing my first OB test by one point, I was working on OB at the time so I was very discouraged. It just made me try harder but everybody in my class thought I was going to get 100%.
  8. Sand bag taped to bed
  9. I applied to Frontier, UC, Georgetown, South & Spring Arbor Frontier because of the history WHNP 3.7, no GRE, 20 years GYN surgery, postpartum 3 years. Heard from Frontier, GU, South & Spring Arbor Starting spring 2016 online with two on-campus visits
  10. It was less than two weeks. I ended up getting into Frontier and I'm going there.
  11. Yes deadline to accept is 1/27. Good luck
  12. Before I got into Frontier I was able to look at the mySAU page, books were very reasonable, they even posted prices to buy elsewhere. I was told not to expect >$200 a term. Good luck to all of you, I was very impressed with SAU. I just have my heart set on women's health.
  13. I got into Frontier and decided to go there. Best of luck.
  14. Congrats. I got in too.
  15. Every program I looked at you had to find your own preceptors
  16. I don't know anybody in the program. The application process was friendly and organized. I sent a PM.
  17. Apparently I have been accepted? I got a call from my academic advisor, pressuring me to go over policies with him. I was confused, since I was unaware that I had been accepted. I still have not received any notification. The whole process has been a little odd. I feel like I am buying a used car. I have been accepted to another school, and waiting to hear from two others. I want to make a decision after I have heard from all the schools. I feel rushed. Can anyone give insight about the school and FNP program. If it is anything like the admission process I'm not getting a good feeling. I do not want to choose a school based on just that aspect. Keeping an open mind any information would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Gateway ASN, CCSU BSN, starting NP school in March. I work in surgery and in women's health.
  19. I am in the process of getting my packet together for the WHNP program. I am getting my letters back, a former instructor who is a NP, my nurse manager for my maternity job, and a coworker with a MSN. I finished my essays, ordered transcripts. I will apply to other programs but this is the one I really want!! I questioned being marketable but if I worked in family practice I would not be following my heart. Is it normal to be more nervous than applying to undergrad nursing school? Best of luck to everyone. If you have any advice please share.
