Ever had a family overdramatic with dying patient?
I'm trying not to judge here too, but what a bunch idiots.,to stop her care or prevent the ability to try and save=then act as if. as if they did everything they could, maybe they had to act like they cared so much by acting like they cared more than they did. how awful

About to give up on being a nurse
4eeeek- don't lose your dream of becoming a nurse, your only 36, you have kids ro raise for years, and they need money. these days it doesnt seem to make sense to claim any denomination, just believe in christ, what he did for us.thank god its not a science fiction based belief like scientology, thats all screwey. but, you'll work for the way it makes you feel in helping other. kindness , only kindness matters. i only had time to school so far (15 yrs now)as an lpn.do that first, it will open so many doors.don't let satan, the poor bastard angel that fell, suck you into defeat.,by overwhelming you into thinking you must only get a ba. or if you can an rn hosp.degree, then it'll be even easier to get your bsn from there. i eneded up getting divorced because that evil side led me astray, then was caught up in the most (1) xxx(!) debilitating car accident, coma, trach, ileostomy, icu neuropathy--etc etc. i couldnt even breathe on my own, i had foot drop almost irriversible, christ healed me through a saint of a doctor dr. william charash of boston medical, to start with then, spots of people along the way of a 2 yr recovery who were filled with his love and may not have even known it, cuz i am, and didnt know it. i feel bad for t cruise, because he's supposed to be so loving and sincere, i hope he is just led back to believe in christ and what he did for us, thats all you need to hold on to. read the purpose driven life, and listen to dr.wayne dyer. i know nursing, and taking care of people, mostly the elderly, and i can't wait to start again, i have taken my first baby steps, i've already worked. but my corrective surgery, to anastamos the intestines back, then give me a stomach muscle wall, took 6 months to heal from a 12 hour surgery(what a man! christ! and dr charash!)and me! for making it! my saint of a mother!jane!! who stayed with me for 365 days, and healed me enough to wait on my own for my corrective surgery. its been a long lonely hard road.............but i"m back! back in the saddle again.......i'm only 4 yrs older than you., come on youngie, dont give up on being a nurse. you may wake up, bleary eyed, coffee in hand and read this, and get goose bumps cuz its sometimes the small things(we think they're small, but god 's put them out there for you) that can make the difference, suddenly its 10 yrs later, and you think"what if i'd never read that, or believed it,where would i be".........now, i turn my life back to my baby, my poor sweet little boy, who was but 7 when my accident happened, he turned 8, his father stole him(and really thank god he loves him and wants to take care of him, although i want him with me ,living with me as he always has),turned 10 as i healed, is now turning 11, as i go back to being a nurse,so i can provide for him however i can.one thing his father does not know, the bond the umbilical cord provides, men can never experience that pain of giving birth thank god. ok, i am now wiped out this morning, i have turned my guts inside out like a washed t-shirt your folding.,turned my life out really. :balloons: congratulations on your baby......i hope i've convinced you. say a prayer for me(i am always with my son too , btw)that i take the best care of everyone at my new work and in my personal like and every aspect of every other person i come in contact with. sorry for spilling my guts.... always trying to lookup... cj(lisa, actually)

Traumatized by nursing - advice needed
Hello, please dont give up, but what a bunch of POS>(pieces os s***).I'm an LPN, 14 yrs exp. have worked in many settings . Finally found my calling , a visiting pedi nurse. I do block time, which means a block of time, one week to 1 yr even, you get to look up info, subscribe to periodicals that match the problem, expend all your good energy on one patient. :Melody: Go on the internet sites like monster, career builder, or find a "head hunter". I ran into so many vindictive people(even some friends) :balloons: right from nursing school............you might want to report somethings to the state board, but be sure its not going to hurt you nrs.license, maybe an aynonomous(spelling) notation, here's the best thing. a small periodical called advance for nurses---in the back it has so many jobs all over, even travel nursing,.it does sound like your missing that one nurse who takes you under her wing and helps you. advanceweb.com----try this. email me anytime at [email protected] lisa :balloons: ]Tahoma xxx

Governator kicks nurses butts!!!
Clearly the *** is an actor. He can afford a private nurse. Health and the staff:patint ratio is not a concern of HIS special interest group(the haves). One day, it'll hit him. Dont quit your day job ahnold, and I mean acting. cj :rotfl:

When One Child Is Enough
5 I will try not to be insulting, but this is real sad.Its like you had no respect for your own human life. Cold, very cold. And I had to have an abortion, I'm not real pro this or pro not. But how could you do that? EVERY pregnancy there's a risk you may be blessed with more than one. You aborted some of your own kids because you didnt want to get "stuck in the house" for 8 years? why the hell did you go off the pill? some mother.....NOT. Rash , but true. One point for honesty, but that story was actually for your counsellor. god. regrettfully, Lisa

The fingernail police!!
:balloons: :) I agree that , of course the nails harbor bacteria, and its the front line when your caring for people.....its totally different than an earing, you dont lay an ear on someone's shoulder in passing to give a fleeting reassuring touch. But, some bleach and a tooth brush several times a shift should fix that! thats what I do.......or you can use H2 O2 also. I dont think it should be against rules, but "clean" should apply. Lisa

Neglect...LPN was fired, RN was not
B I am an LPN, 15 yrs. worked in most(or many areas)Experience brings alot. Any, GOOD>if ANYONE, does not feel comfortable doing something, then to protect the PATIENT there is no alternative. Thats what supervisors are for.BUT-the nurse needs asep by step introduction,(physically be watched a few times) she/he cant abuse the-the "oh I'm not comfortable"--GET EXPERIENCE OR GET OUT.Really. But its the way the facility sets up things I disagree with. Tale care---- cj comic sans5red

Neglect...LPN was fired, RN was not
Yes, in that facility the LPN was working within her scope. Now, aren't supervisors responsible if their nurses do something wrong? And, its poor hospital policy NOT to use the RN_LPN team work.

Does anyone here actually LIKE LTC???
:imbar Hello Try to find another place, really. Dont give up, I've been a nurse 15yrs, alot in LTC, I'm 39, and I can usually just get a hunch or intuition:YOUR EXCELLENT. They need you, just go somewhere else if you cannot put up with the people, nothing wrong with you leaving. You deserve to be happy, spreading that to patients helps alot. All my best---lisa :balloons:

Neglect...LPN was fired, RN was not
I REPEAT: A PISS POOR SET UP FROM THE "ESTABLISHMENT"that whether your an RN-or LPN, makes no difference to them. And it should. What about the law that says if a doctor writes an order, its wrong (dose, route, whatever) the nurse administers it, and she's to blame.Or the pharmacist that sent me 90mg blister tabs in a card labeled 30 mg.I just happen to know the patient and meds well, and thought the size was awfully big, so I checked first. Would have been my fault, according to law. disgusting. such a lawsuit happy society, that cant accept human beings are just that. And we all make mistakes. HOWEVER,its goddamn dangerous and asking for trouble when the staff to patient ratio is way off. And who decides whats way off? WE SHOULD. for we know how much a nurse can take.anyone want to be a nurse.Well, I guess I still do, very much.Just been through burn out a couple times. We need some political nurses in here, a voice, a lead. I wonder if we can come up with something, use it for the upcoming election.ah--going to bed........ :imbar

Neglect...LPN was fired, RN was not
[ :angryfire WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THIS? THE GOD**** INSTITUTION is at fault for setting up such ashoddy team plan. there are no players, no team mates. An LPN with the same responsibilities as an RN? Why be an RN? they took DIFFERENT EXAMS! It should be a team, RN the head, then LPN, CNA"S. F====== CRAZY. You all should strike, lest it happen to you. LISA the ROCK
