  1. Good for you, and enjoy the PDA, I love mine. I finish in one month!!! You can do it. Luanne
  2. Check your hosptal policy and your state nurse practice act. We use it for Endoscopy, but there must be one RN to monitor and one RN/Tech to assist, Minimum of three in the room, and all emergency equipment must be avsilable.
  3. Don't give up. We all need to vent from time to time. I love nursing. I became an RN at age 32 with my Associates degree. At age 38 I finished my BSN. In 1 1/2 months I will finsh my MSN / Adult Nurse Practitioner. My daughter is in Nursing school and I support and encourage her. It is a great career. According to Martha Rogers "nursing is a learned profession, both a science and an art", this is so true. Luanne
  4. Congratulations to both of you. Luanne
  5. I will be graduating in May, Adult NP. I was thinking of signing up for both exams. Any advice would be appreciated. Luanne

  7. I just finished my third semester and I can honestly say I do not like the theory component. Next semester I start Research and that really scares me. I am in the Adult NP program, online and my clinicals are arranged in the area I live in. I cannot believe I am halfway through. Luanne

  13. I took the MAT. I studied the tips they gave in the Barons book and did OK. I think the GRE would have been much harder.
  14. Wow, I'm sorry you had to experience that. I'm surprised they didn't keep the patient in the ER with a 1:1 (including security) until placement was found at a psych facility. What kind of attending admitted the patient? Luanne
  15. Glad to find this forum. I am in my first semester, I am in an adult NP program. Good luck to everyone. Luanne
  16. Best of luck to you. I am in week 9 of my first semester. It is overwhelming, just being back in school is tough. I also work, have a home and kids in college. My husband works crazy hours so that is not a problem. You can do it. Feel free to PM me, sounds like we are on the same track. Luanne
  17. I am so sorry for you. I lost my first child, and went on to have two beautiful daughters. The pain never goes away, but you find a way to live with it and it becomes a part of your life. Every year when the due date comes around for my first child, I go into a slight depression, lasting a couple of weeks. You will survive and move on. We become strong at the broken places.(The title of a book by Max Cleland, great book.) Luanne
  18. we use spot now. In the past we used india ink, but the Doctor had to order it 24 hours in advance from Pharmacy!!!! Imagine that.
  19. I found it while doing a search for graduate schools.
