Break Room Ideas
Our facilities department was so fed up with a fridge full of crap that they seriously put their foot down. So every Sunday night, they throw EVERYTHING away in the fridge. They don't care what it is or who it belongs to. Tupperware is even tossed (yes, even the expensive stuff) They don't mess around. Haha It's amazing how much room we have now! It whipped everyone into shape for sure! No one leaves anything in the fridge or sink. No one leaves stuff in the fridge. We're all more conscious of our breakroom. I think the key though is that it's an outside party keeping us on our toes. If it was up to us....Haha...forget it!

Expired narcotics question
Bingo. If it's an expired script, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

My patient had HIV and the flu but wore mask incorrectly
If I came across as rude, I apologize. I posted without thinking which was wrong of me. I do agree that some homework is in order though.

Did you just ask if you could get HIV through droplets??

Is this type of schedule common?
The only thing close to that schedule that I have heard of is a buddy of mine that is a fireman. But not even close to 14 days on though...

Nursing student theft
Sounds to me like the school has enough on her without having to drag you into it. I say let them figure it out. You probably have bigger fish to fry anyway. This student seems to be hanging herself just fine on her own.

Moving from ICU to research?
So sorry I didn't respond earlier! Yikes! We have about a dozen nurses. And also MA's who work as Research Technician's. We have both inpatient and outpatient studies at our facility. So I get to do both.

Cops and Nurses
So I guess it's safe to say that some law enforcement officers take it into consideration and some don't.

Fired from my first nursing job, before one year
I'll be honest- this original post seemed so over the top that I was starting to think that it was fake. My advice is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, engage in a lot of reflection, have a nice big piece of humble pie then conquer your next position with a more expanded outlook. Even if an experience is negative, you can still learn from it. Use your tenacity to your advantage. Best of luck. :)
