Help Please! I can't figure out this dosage problem
For some reason I cannot figure out these two problems dealing with Units. I have emailed my instructors but haven't got a response yet so I would appreciate some help. The first problem is 50units of insulin, 500mL of .9NS @20 ml/hour (the answer is supposed to be 2.0 units?) The second is 25 units of reg insulin in 250 ml of NS is ordered at 1 unit per hour with hourly dose tittations to maintain FSBG Between 70-90 mg\dl

I brought only my drug book and lab book and usually kept them at either the nurses station or by a computer somewhere in the hall. Never had a problem with anyone taking them!

Ebooks in Nursing School?
I have an ebook that came with one of my hard copies and I dont really care for it, but thats just my opinion. Its absolutly annoying to have to scroll and zoom and use an electronic highlighter. I would try one before buying all of your books in that format. HTH!

BSN completion: UIC vs. Benedictine
Benedictine is actually a great school for their health and sciences. IMO I would do Ben U as it is cheaper and its in class. I know a few nurses who are doing their completion online and regret doing it online. Good luck!

Possibility of Undergrad working in the ICU towards becoming CRNA
you have to work a min. of 1-2 years as a RN in the ICU so to answer your question...No you would no. But, working as a a CNA in an ICU may help you get a job in that ICU when you graduate.

Sunrise Senior Living
Yes they perfrom the dining services among many other responsibilities. They dont hire you as a titled CNA...your a "care manager". The Place is nice and expensive but they pay you close to minimum wage. Want my advice...find another job as a CNA
