OCN Exam
I wanted to add an updated view on taking the OCN exam for all nurses interested. Best study advise that I can give is to read the Core Curriculum for Oncology Nursing (Purple Book..5th Edition) from front to back paying close attention to the topics on the blueprint. Also answer questions in the study guide (of same book). All the posts I've read talked about how HARD the test was. I felt the test was pretty easy. KNOW YOUR DRUGS!!! that makes a world of different. Best of Luck!!! #RN, OCN

Best shoes ever?
I agree that switching it up is probably the best option. I find Dansko, Sanita, Crocs and New Balance my friends when working 12 hour shifts. I think it's all about trial and error. Good Luck and Comfy Feet to all !!!!!!!!

New Grad Starting in OB**** (Advice from all)
I too am a new grad and was offered a job on the OB/Antepartum unit at a major hospital. I was not even expecting it. I was hired on the spot one evening while doing my precepting in the Labor and Delivery unit. I was so thankful to have a job as many of my classmates had just started applying for positions. I fortunately have 8 years experience working in an OB/GYN office . I'm very excited !!!!

I am a true believer in Exam Cram...I used it for my PN Nclex and also just a few weeks ago for RN NCLEX and passed them both on first try. I also saw several questions on NCLEX that were very similar to those on Exam Cram. Best Wishes to you.

Maya 22...good luck to you... how did you study for the exam? I know they say relax prior to taking the NCLEX, but all I can do is study. The funny thing is; all I keep hearing on the TV and radio is how today is "THE END OF THE WORLD"....and all I can say is Can I at least get my RN license first???

ATTN NCLEX TAKERS: Only book you need...
Do you feel it is a big difference in the comprehensive versus the Exam Cram which is also by Pearson Vue. I take the NCLEX-RN on the 23rd and have been doing the Exam Cram daily and also scheduled to take a HESI review course next week.
-
Has anyone ever failed the nclex using exam cram? Curious.
I am currently using the Exam Cram and I am also doing a review course next week by HESI. I used Exam Cram two years ago for NCLEX-PN and found it very useful and that was the only preparation I used. this time around I feel I need more preparation as there is alot more content to be tested on especially managing. Best of luck to you. I am scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN in less than 2 weeks.

best nclex rn review book
I used the Exam Cram-PN two years ago and passed on the first try with minimal questions and I just went out and bought the Exam Cram-RN to study (NCLEX-RN scheduled in two weeks). I also paid for HESI review course which I will be doing next week. Anyone familiar with that review course?

How do you get through the last few months of nursing school?
I have 9 weeks left of the ADN program!!! I am excited and nervous too. I have just started precepting in Labor and Delivery. I can't wait until I am a "Real Nurse" (haha...just kidding...I heard someone say that before). My school has just started teaching "concept" nursing this program...we are the "test dummies" I guess you can say. Everyone (except one)failed the last test and even that one student admitted she just guessed the answers. So my next test is coming up on Fluid/Electrolytes and I have been studying my tush off. Does anyone have any suggestions to help get through these 9 painful weeks?

Starting my last semester of nursing school and I'm TERRIFIED!
I am also in my final semester of RN program. I graduate on May 7th and can NOT wait until that day. This semester for me is filled with lots of test. We have 1 calculation test, 6 unit test, 1 final exam, 7 ATI test, and 1 exit exam. Any suggestions on how to make the most out of a busy end?

LPN to RN
Things are different here in NC. I graduated from LPN school 7/2009 and just found out that I have been excepted into the PN to RN transition program (which there are only 10 slots available and over 150 people applied). I am so excited about this opportunity as I will only have 2 semesters to complete. Best wishes to all out there.
