  1. NC-RN2011 posted a topic in Oncology
I wanted to add an updated view on taking the OCN exam for all nurses interested. Best study advise that I can give is to read the Core Curriculum for Oncology Nursing (Purple Book..5th Edition) from front to back paying close attention to the topics on the blueprint. Also answer questions in the study guide (of same book). All the posts I've read talked about how HARD the test was. I felt the test was pretty easy. KNOW YOUR DRUGS!!! that makes a world of different. Best of Luck!!! #RN, OCN
  2. I agree that switching it up is probably the best option. I find Dansko, Sanita, Crocs and New Balance my friends when working 12 hour shifts. I think it's all about trial and error. Good Luck and Comfy Feet to all !!!!!!!!
  3. I too am a new grad and was offered a job on the OB/Antepartum unit at a major hospital. I was not even expecting it. I was hired on the spot one evening while doing my precepting in the Labor and Delivery unit. I was so thankful to have a job as many of my classmates had just started applying for positions. I fortunately have 8 years experience working in an OB/GYN office . I'm very excited !!!!
  4. I am a true believer in Exam Cram...I used it for my PN Nclex and also just a few weeks ago for RN NCLEX and passed them both on first try. I also saw several questions on NCLEX that were very similar to those on Exam Cram. Best Wishes to you.
  5. I personally studied Exam Cram and just took NCLEX-RN on May 23rd. There were several questions that were very similar to the questions I had studied on Exam Cram. I just got my official results this morning. I passed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Yeah... I got the "GOOD POP UP"" :dancgrp:
  7. OMG... took NCLEX RN this morning....it shut off at 95 questions (I was horrified after question 75 ) I got home and tried PVT but had to wait 2 hours before it said Delivery Sucessful.....Long story short....I got the "GOOD POP UP"
  8. sounds just like my day. best wishes and hope to hear great news from you tomorrow !!
  9. I too take the NCLEX RN exam on the 23rd and feel so nervous. I have studied the Exam Cram ,took a HESI review course (937 score) and have also used Davis Comprehensive Review CD as well as made notes on all the "need 2 know" labs, antedotes, and things. Please say a prayer for me as tomorrow will be a day of rest and prayer. Best wishes to all who are scheduled to take the NCLEX this month !:)
  10. I'm in North Carolina... I take mine first thing in the morning. I'm nervous too, but took some time out this afternoon to spend with the family. This evening it will be back to STUDYING...(Exam Cram...Davis Comprehensive)
  11. Maya 22...good luck to you... how did you study for the exam? I know they say relax prior to taking the NCLEX, but all I can do is study. The funny thing is; all I keep hearing on the TV and radio is how today is "THE END OF THE WORLD"....and all I can say is Can I at least get my RN license first???
  12. thank you.... I feel a little bit better. My post HESI score was a 937:yeah:
  13. Ok Guys.. I am scheduled to take NCLEX-RN on Monday (23rd). I have used Exam Cram and have taken the HESI review course (3days). I am so nervous about this exam. I feel like I know the basic info, but still have this sense of.."OMG..I don't know enough". Please keep me in your prayers. This has been a long, yet rewarding journey (this far). Will try to keep you all posted (if my nerves allow .uhoh21
  14. Do you feel it is a big difference in the comprehensive versus the Exam Cram which is also by Pearson Vue. I take the NCLEX-RN on the 23rd and have been doing the Exam Cram daily and also scheduled to take a HESI review course next week.
  15. I am currently using the Exam Cram and I am also doing a review course next week by HESI. I used Exam Cram two years ago for NCLEX-PN and found it very useful and that was the only preparation I used. this time around I feel I need more preparation as there is alot more content to be tested on especially managing. Best of luck to you. I am scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN in less than 2 weeks.
