  1. If it's your dream, don't give up! See if you can reapply to the LPN program to repeat the course you failed or see if other LPN schools will let you transfer credits.
  2. It happens. It happened a LOT at the first place I worked. All you can do is let them know it's inappropriate. There are certain settings it happens more in, from my experience-with individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol, also certain neurological disorders can make people behave in ways they normally wouldn't.
  3. Please stay away.
  4. WTH

She was just trying to comfort the daughter.
  5. Unfortunately, it just sounds like another day at the office. Try to see this as a good thing, that you've found out this isn't for you before investing a great deal of time and money.
  6. How very sad
  7. OMG if I hear one more person call a brief a diaper..........................................
  8. Happy birthday!
  9. Here's one: I can certainly get you water, candy, etc..-but must you make this request from two inches away from my face? In my experience-all 26 years-when people get this close to you they are either about to kiss you or hit you. I don't want you to do either one, please let me have my space.
  10. If I were you, I would get the LPN license you are more than qualified for, then do LPN to BSN online. I know this must be devastating-so close to being done and all-I've been there, kind of-but hang in there and do not let one instructor ruin nursing for you-it's a wonderful field!
  11. Congrads! Live it up, as you will NOT be able to in nursing school. Buy a ton of school supplies, running out when you have a ton on your plate sucks. Get a pedicure, pamper yourself, and celebrate getting in with so much competition :)
  12. God yes-depending on how bad the last job was, large amounts of chocolate may also be needed.
  13. You'll love home care :)
  14. Depending on who it is, I've done everything from greet them to run in the opposite direction, as I know they move at a snail's pace unless there are doughnuts involved.
  15. Poor things! I've had days that I've been worked to death, but never that bad. Jeez. This here donut I'm about to eat shall be eaten in the honor of all you hard workers!
  16. Please be careful, as most are scams. Try to find something listed on the BBB website or a company with a long track record.
  17. I love 7p-7a. One place I worked at had a sort of reward system for working it-work 12 hour shifts so you get 36 hours a week but get paid for 40! I was so green back then.........it was like Christmas came early lol.
  18. Poor you I know the feeling. I started as an aide at 17 with no experience in LTC and dreaded going into work. It was like being thrown to the wolves. Home care is much better, but hours may not always be great, you may want to try a few different companies. Also, I bet you feel beaten down after being yelled at like that and treated like crap-please just know that what goes around comes around. Home health is a breath of fresh air, I'm happy for you :)
  19. I so adore this thread :)
  20. Hi, talking through the steps helps so the tester(is that the correct title?)-knows you didn't miss a step.
  21. Terrible! Here's the optimistic aspect......now you don't have to work for sneaky hyenas.
