  1. I'm not sure what the order is , but yes she IS wearing both @ the same time...all I know is I have never seen or heard of such.....need to know what I can do if it's possible.
  2. Saw a patient on a nasal cannula @ 6L o2 and a non re breathing mask. Her nose has been bleeding none stop. She is using peroxide n q tips to clear her nose once the blood drys. The nurses know that this is going on. I'm not sure what to do. I once read that on such a high level nasal cannula o2 u basically blow the brain and after 4L on a nasal cannula don't do any good anyway. What can/should I do or not do?
  3. No I'm not saying that CNAs are being ask to start IVs. I'm saying that I find it strange that some nurses do not know how to start an IV or draw blood with a simple butterfly.
  4. I agree if the nurse is new . It's a different story for the ones that has been doing this for many many yrs. I just believe if a nurse has been in his or her field for better than 5,6,10 yrs should know how to start an IV n be able to draw blood.
  5. I have been a CNA for many yrs now and I have had the chance to work with some awesome nurses. Both RN's and LPN's. Point is up until the last year have I met RNs that has no idea how to start an IV..on top of that they want to get mad with the CNAs and CAs if they can't get. How is this even possible? Why are these nurses not having the basics?

I understand what you all are saying but.....this pt was not paralyzed nor does he have diabetes.....and for him moan everytime he was wiped is an strong indication that he was feeling pain..
  7. Was @ work the other day. Pt came to the floor with stool on him .In the process of cleaning him we noticed bed sores. The RN turned to the daughter of this pt and tells her that bed sores don't hurt... WTH!!! that ppl with bed sores can't feel them......where the h*** did she go to become a nurse...
