  1. Close to QC. i am border QC and Mesa. See, i couldn't do it now if I had to go everyday. I thought if I was oncampus only a few days a week, then it would be doable, but not everyday....I can't find a course schedule to see how that works, and so I am beginning to think I may have to wait until my youngest is in school.
  2. What schedule does Chamberlain have? Those who attend, how many days and how long are you there? I am asking because I would love to start this program, but I have two small children at this time and my husband only has three days off of work. We don't really have anyone that can babysit the kids and we can't afford childcare. So, I am curious if I would be able to work Chamberlain into my schedule? I live way out in the East Valley, so it will be quite the drive anyway as well - 50 miles one way!
  3. How about the tutoring? I have heard that the RIO tutoring is actually fairly decent. Good luck!
  4. I was under the impression that you could did not have to write essays in CHM? Is this also on the midterm and final?
  5. I think you need 20 posts in order to be able to send PM's unless you have a membership with allnurses. But once you do, just check out your account and when you want to contact someone, under their profile click contact and then select send a PM. Does the instructor make him/herself available? Are the instructions not clear? I wish I could help, but I haven't taken it yet...
  6. I have heard good things about Grand Canyon University and NAU if you are around that area, but ASU seems to be difficult, not entirely sure....
  7. I am scheduled to take PSY 230 in a few weeks. What are you having difficulties with? I would ask who your instructor is, but I don't think you can PM now. The PP were talking about PSY 240, which is a different class. Good luck in this class!
  8. Thanks for posting this! I look forward to reading your next segment
  9. I have heard numerous times how tough this class is and I just took Lesson 1 Quiz and was really unhappy with the set up. The lesson and labs were strictly on Chapter 1 and our midterm is suppose to be from Chapters 1 and 4-7, so I didn't think Ch 2 and 3 would have much emphasis and only briefly looked over it. Well, tonight THE ENTIRE quiz was on Ch. 2 and 3. Now I am worried thinking that the guidelines and such are not really what I can trust, but how in the world is one to prepare?
  10. This school is accredited and part of the maricopa community colleges district. It will transfer to any school as well as apply to your BSN. You will have to find local proctor sites that i have heard can take four weeks to schedule test dates and you must take the mid term and final in person. Good luck! Hey ladies - who was your professor for BIO? Can you PM? I am interested in knowing as I start next week! THANKS!
  11. Hi Shawna! We have alot in common already! I hope that I am starting the nursing program by Fall 2010 as well. I am married with two kids about the same age as yours. We should keep in touch - sounds like we will be going through the same things about the same time and have family that is closely the same! Good luck
  12. Thank you so much! I can't wait to start collecting these books and reading them while I wait for acceptance into the nursing program! I have to check out the vlogs!I bet they are filled with some useful information! Not that I need anything to add to my already excited and antsy desire for nursing!!!
  13. YES! Thank you very much! You have helped and I do appreciate the recommendation of the stand. I will put to use that for sure! I am in the same mindset. I have lost total interest in my fictional books as well as TV. I just want to absorb as much nursing information as I can. I saw so many books I could get into at the bookstore, but I want to get what will be of most use immediantly. THANK YOU!!!!
  14. I am taking A&P I this Summer for 14 weeks as well as CHM 130 for 14 weeks. I plan on doing ALOT of homework, but I am still really looking forward to this. GOOD LUCK
  15. AWESOME! I will have to check these out and hope I can purchase this on Amazon. I think I may even purchase two in hopes of having my DD color with me! LOL She is four, but if she can get a foundation for some of this at this age, I am going to go with it! I am taking A&P 1 this summer and then A&P II this Fall.
  16. I am finishing up my pre-nursing courses and should be done by the end of the summer. I plan to take BIO 202 and BIO 205 in the Fall and then Pathos while I am waiting to be accepted in the program. With Mother's Day coming up (as well as other holidays throughout the year), I know my DD and husband will want to get me something and I would prefer to stick to nursing books that I can read. I was browsing the Barnes and Noble Nursing Section today and was wondering what would be some books to ask for? Any advice? I plan to ask for Saunders NCLEX for Mother's Day and purchased the Fluids and Electrolytes made easy along with Math for Nursing today. What else is recommended? Thanks! Angela
  17. I am still in pre-nursing, but I have less time with the kids, dogs, and family as well as friends. I have to be very strategic with my time and it isn't always fun. But, it will be worth it in the end
  18. I have a friend that has PCOS and just birthed her fourth child. She has to really take control over her ovulation and monitor it for well over a year, but she has four kids. Just wanted to add a little hope there!
  19. Congratulations on getting in! You did really well on your NET, so that is good.
  20. Congratulations and thanks for the words of encouragement! Hope it goes well and i look forward to reading how it goes with you!
  21. I am new here, but I am really sorry to hear you are giving up a dream of becoming a nurse. Some of the courses frighten me a little (like CHM), but in the long run nursing is a dream I have to full fill. As embarrassing as it is for me to type this, I had to take College Alegebra three times in order to pass. And the only reason I did was because I had an awesome tutor that worked with me for 15 hours a week. It was hard work. That was all five years ago now and here I am back in school to finish up and get into nursing. Maybe you need a break. I took one and a little too long at that (but I wanted to take time to enjoy my babies that I had in the meantime). Now, I feel that even the roadblocks are not going to hold me back. I also suggest using ratemyprofessor.com or even google the professor. I have done that for all the courses and while it is tedious work, I will not take a course with a difficult instructor. At times, it has NOTHING at all to do with whether you are fully capable of passing the class. It sometimes lies all within that professor. Good luck
  22. CONGRATULATIONS! I believe fighting for your dream with all that you have! I am so happy to hear it paid off! I hope to apply in Fall and hopefully it will only take a year for me to get in! Fingers crossed!
  23. I am new here, but I was moved by what you wrote. My husband and I both are trying to pursue careers in a bad economic time. We wish we had been wiser when we were younger, but we all can't really dwell on the past can we!? I have not taken the NET yet. Have you? If not, I have heard it is basic math skills. I am not affluent in the math department and so naturally a tad nervous, but by allowing this to be a roadblock, it will only prevent me from getting to my desire dream. It can sometimes be a challenge and a fight to get what we want, but in the end it will be worth it. Keep fighting! GOOD LUCK
  24. Well, let's stay in touch! I think you will do fine. I am doing summer I and then plan to take BIO 202 in the fall
  25. Good Luck and I hope you can keep me posted. I am contemplating if I should do the LPN -RN route. I would be interested to see how this plays out for you!
