dover business college fails whole class
I agree with this ^^^ It can be a reflection of their curriculum or teaching style. Has the curriculum been changed recently? I remember being part of a restructuring within our RN program and after they figured out it didn't work, they mended and modified their standards to reflect the deviation from the original program. In the end it worked out. Everyone was frustrated by the change and it even affect the always A students because the hit in grades due to the change could have dropped their averages bigtime...I hope the school helps out...:)

How long do pre-employment background checks usually take?
I'm in the same process as well and was told by HR that it will take 5-7 days...I guess it depends how extensive their background check is...I hope you hear back from them soon...:)

Finally Got An RN Job...:)
Hello everyone, just wanted to share some good news... I graduated in May 2011, passed NCLEX in July 2011 and after several interviews which included a peer interview, finally got a job offer with a major health system for a Med Surg/Ortho/Acute Care Rehab Unit...I am ecstatic about finally being able to start my new devotion/career...I almost lost hope in getting a job after seeing the difficulty by new grads all over the country...But with prayer, patience and persistence, something eventually came up...With all these said, I would like to thank everyone here at AN for thier support and knowledge...You are all awesome...:)

Cost of medical insurance!
That's some pretty expensive medical plan...Employers usually contribute to the premium...With this price, I would think that maybe they stuck the whole premium to the employee...See if you can get an outside plan that will cost less and just opt out of their plan...Hope you sort this out...:)

Help!!! Graduated in May, going on my 2nd interview!
Good luck on your second interview...I will send prayers your way...:) Knock 'em off their socks...A friend of mine from school who recently got at job in the ER at a major hospital in the city once said that confidence shows in an interview, so feel confident in yourself and keep your head up...I am also going for a second interview next week for a Med Surg/Ortho/Rehab unit and I am keeping my fingers crossed...During my first interview with the unit director, she asked me some questions about school and clinicals. I was fortunate to do one of my clinicals in a Nuero/Rehab units and told her of my great learning experience. She made copies of my license and BLS cert and started telling me about benefits and orientation w/c will include a pham test. She asked me at that time if I can come back next week to interview with another colleague due to a shared governance as a magnet hospital and that this interviewer would see if I will "fit in"...Again, good luck on the interview...:)
