  2. Every baby is a gift! My son came about a year earlier than expected, but I wouldn't have changed the timing for anything now! It will work itself out. Don't worry... You'll do fine.
  3. I think, where there is a will, there is a way. If God wants you to be married, then He will provide a way for it to happen... not to say that it won't be difficult... but a bit more painless...
  4. I don't think you were over exaggerating at all... I would be ticked also! That's just disgusting not to at least wash your hands before touching another patient!
  5. Oh Sweetie - You'll be ok! Yes, it will be rough for a little bit, but it will be so worth it in the long run! You are a great Mama for wanting to better yourself & your girls will survive! Praise God for a supportive husband!! Please, if there is anything you would like to talk about or need to let out - please let me know! God Bless!
  6. I just have to say that I am so impressed that you are divorced and still maintain a good relationship. Good for you! I wish more divorced couples were like you!
  7. You poor woman! Good thing you have a supportive husband as I do! Our son was a surprise (all be it a good one), I worked full time before he was born until 2 weeks before he came... and have been home since. NOW - it is expected of me to stay home - and have no outside activities! I was a youth leader and sang in the choir in our church before we moved... and being gone for 2 hours 2 nights a week were too much!!!! They lived in our basement & wouldn't even babysit for that short time while I was at CHURCH!!! Now, that I want to FINALLY pursue school - AGAIN - this is horrible! How dare I let someone else raise my son!!! Are you kidding me??? 9 hours a day for 11 months - with weekends & evenings off & breaks in between!!! And I only plan to work 1 or 2 12 hour shifts a week! And get this... yesterday they call us & want us to come down there for the weekend. Want us to stay the night for several nights! (they are an hour & 20 min away). They NEVER come & see us! Why do we always have to go there & spend the gas... why do we have to stay the night??? We are a family of our own!!! They said they were 'willing' to babysit for a night and a day for us (which they NEVER volunteer for)... if we come down there. They live in a rual community with NOTHING to do and with hubby laid off right now we are being very frugle with our finances & can't 'afford' to go out & get a hotel or whatever. Why can't they come up here & get our son, let us have a night & the next day to ourselves & we'll go & get him the next day??? Sorry - don't mean to rant... just very frustrated!!! WE ARE ADULTS!

  9. I will be 27 in May and am hopefully starting my program in August... NO, you are not too old! More power & Good Luck to you!
  10. I know this is goofy... just wondering... Does anyone watch the show Scrubs? How do you like it? Do you see it as medically/socially accurate? They do have the stamp of approval by the AMA as being medically accurate. Just was wondering as hubby & I are sitting here watching it. (I LOVE IT!)
  11. I'd also appreciate any information about this. I am petrified about the math! I have been out of school for a while...
  12. Wow - that's alot of information. 7 weeks? What course is that? Is that the entire program? My advice - take it one day at a time and pace yourself. Don't overwhelm yourself. About Valentines day... most clinicals are during the day, so you should get the evening to spend with your BF. Take a few with him, you'll need it! You'll be ok... just be careful & take your time. God Bless!
  13. I am going for my LPN first, then continuing on LPN to RN in a couple years. It isn't a total waste... just depends on what your plans are.
  14. I would be very careful putting these very in-depth classes in the same semester. You may have trouble concentrating on one or the other at a time. Just my opinion...
  15. Yeah, I'm just perusing a passion, outside of my family. Not that I don't love them, just need a little 'me' time.
  16. NONONONONONO!!!!! I mean he has a career that allows me to stay home - he makes enough where I don't HAVE to work outside the home, which is my dream come true! Because I lost my parents at such a young age & my parents both had to work full time, I have always wanted to be home with my children. That's what I mean when I say 'allow'... I meant his career... we aren't dependent on 2 incomes. Believe me - he in NO way tells me what I am ALLOWED to do!!!
  17. Haha!!! I'm about to loose in-laws because they believe the mother belongs in the home - ONLY! I love being home with my son, just would like to work 1 or 2 days outside the home - to have something FOR ME... to serve & to make a little extra income! Luckily my husband does NOT believe the way they do. He still wants me home as much as possible, but is totally supportive of me continuing on & learning as much as I can. Praise God for husbands who support, but still allow us to stay home the majority of the time!
  18. This article is so great! It shows both positives & negatives... and reasons we are in such a crisis! AMEN - raise awareness... light a fire under SOMEONE to pay our instructors more, and get more of them... so we can have more nurses out there taking care of our families!!!
  19. WOW! At my salon it is about $20 per bottle... STILL EXPENSIVE... but what I am striving for!
  20. I would SSOOOO like to have a new laptop - this one was bought in 1998!!!!!!!
  21. We did that for a while. Just did the blockbuster thing... until I had our son. Now, we are WAY too addicted to CSI, CSI Miami, Dr. Phil, Scrubs, ER & the history channel... Oh - and hubby's SPONGE BOB!!!
  22. Exactly! My husband gets 'that look' every time they come on! Now, the Nuva Ring commercial is on - COME ON!!! I think our GYN's or private dr's KNOW which drugs to give for whatever diagnosis THEY give...
  23. This is great! Grant us the Serenity!
  24. Wow - I'm also sick of seeing the 'Viagra' & 'anti-depressant' ads also! Since when is the general public so well-versed on medical treatments??
  25. YAY!!! How exciting! So happy for you - just remember to hang in there, no matter how tough it gets & good luck!
