  1. Hi, I am taking Anatomy001 and Chem051 this fall as well, then Physio and Micro for spring. Are you taking it at LACCD? Goodluck to both of us.
  2. Hi Coloradogrl, You must be referring to one of my post were I noted, base on my experience with family and friends who have applied to MSMC. I know a total of 19 individuals, both graduates and attending MSMC. A few were really great dedicated students while the others are just okay, nonetheless, they all got accepted by just meeting the required GPA. Some are graduates of the ABSN and ADN, if not attending. So again, base on my experience, I have yet to meet someone who has been turn down at MSMC.
  3. It sounds doable; I took 18 credit last Spring and I got a 4.0, bear in my that I only had 1 science class with lab though. This coming Fall, I will be taking 19 credit, with 2 science class both with lab so I am hoping to get good grades as well. Goodluck.
  4. As far as I know, base on my family and friends and schoolmates, I have never met anyone who has been denied acceptance, as long as you meet the required GPA, which is I believe 2.5 (you can double check on their website) and you have the money or can be approve with loans. It is very expensive.
  5. Hi dreamon, Los Angeles.
  6. Hi vlove, Yeah, if GOD forbid I don't get into ANY nursing school, I am looking into Health admin and or Nutrition/Dietetics, since most of the pre-reqs are needed in nutrition as well.
  7. Hi, how about an essay about the different types of mental health therapy?..although, I am not sure how "nursing" related that can be?...you can probably note how nurses see different improvements or reactions from different individual depending on what therapy that person is getting. Goodluck.
  8. :ancong!: Do you mind sharing with us what was your GPA? Was there an interview? or any other information that will be useful. Congratulations again..
  9. Hi touchhealth, I know a few people who will be starting this September for the ADN program, and they are not the best students in the class, they just happen to have parents with money who can actually send them to MSMC. I am not sure how fierce is the competition with their BSN program; my sister in law and her friend attended MSMC 4 years ago.
  10. If I don't get in to any of the cc or csu that I plan on applying, I will apply at MSMC. It cost a lot but they never turn down any applicants.
  11. If everything goes well with my plan, I should be done by Spring 2010 with all my pre-reqs; so I am hoping to get in the program by 2011. Good luck to all of us!!!
  12. Hi, If you are really determined, you should talk to a chem051 professor during the first day of class and explain your situation; you can be a standby student. Show up to class everyday, do the work, and go the extra mile. Most of the time, half of summer students drop classes, especially science with lab courses due to the heavy load. You can take over vacant spot. Good luck to you.
  13. vlove-if you don't mind the drive, you should check out micro classes at GCC or PCC.
  14. Our Bio professor at LAVC informed us that the Micro 8 week class that she was suppose to teach during session 1 was cancelled. Some of my bio classmates were looking forward to that class. Also, on the email that I got earlier today from registration noted that as well. Did you get any email?
  15. vlove-I barely started taking pre-reqs and will not be taking micro until Spring 2010. As for CNA classes, check out wvoc across pierce or lavc. cynnacal- I am taking summer classes at pierce; I hope that they gave me the wrong info regarding cancellation of 8 week classes. It sux that students now need to re-organize their science classes and will have to take an extra semester due to this cancellation. hope to see you both around campus.
  16. Hi vlove- I am from the valley too; attending lavc and pierce and lamission to complete my pre-reqs. Since you are interested in ADN, I would suggest applying at a cc rather than msmc. Hi cynnacal- what school are you attending; I just called all LACCD campuses and they confirmed all 8 week classes are cancelled. They said all those who are enrolled in 8 week classes and summer session B should recieve an email sometime today.
  17. Hi rlportee, Sorry to hear about your situation. Are they at least waiving your unit fees?
  18. I am still registered to 2 classes during summer session 1 (Math and Sociology) and I am hoping it will not get cancelled. I see that you are interested in getting into msmc ADN program, are you done with your pre-reqs?
  19. Thanks for the info tothepointe... and yes vlove, very lame indeed. a lot of science classes are offered 8 weeks long so almost all science classes with lab got cancelled....
  20. Hi Wizzo, Sorry to hear about your situation. But do you mind me asking what schools did you apply at?
  21. Thanks Marggie for starting this thread; I will be taking chem as well for fall and I will need all the help I can get.
  22. Hi there, Our science professor just informed us that the Los Angeles Community College District just cancelled Summer session 2. And they are still waiting for words regarding Session 1. This is soooo not cool, especially for all those students who enrolled in 8 week classes in session 1 because those are cancelled as well. Basically, only 5 week courses from session 1 will push through (unless they cancel those as well).
  23. If the cc or uni are within the same district, the pre-reqs are the same.
  24. Hi Rxtech, I am currently taking pre-reqs at LAVC and hoping to be done by Spring2010; I was able to talk to some students currently at the program at LAVC and so far, most of them are not working, by choice. They said that if not in school or clinicals, most of them meet up to study/review.
