  1. We have 6/13 week semesters. :)
  2. Hello! Riverside is a two year diploma program. I finished Level 1 today and really enjoy the program. Cinical hours begin 5 weeks into the first semester and increase with each level.
  3. Hi Jburton7! I sent you an email. :)
  4. Hi! I have heard that it is good to purchase an NCLEX review book. I plan on purchasing either the Saunder's NCLEX review or Prentice Hall NCLEX review and begin practice questions on day 1. Will you be attending the Day RN program? Heather
  5. Tracy, My GPA is currently a 3.1 and I scored a 81% on the TEAS. Riverside has a rolling admission. You must complete a minimum of 10 pre-req credits before you apply, score a minimum of 73.3% on the TEAS and complete the interview. I don't know how competitive they are but there is not a wait list. I have heard they accept applicants until the class is full and all pre-reqs must be completed before the start of school. The admissions dept is very friendly, I would give them a call. I feel Riverside is a reputable school and I can't wait to begin classes in January. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. :) Heather
  6. Eeek! I'm taking Micro in the Fall and I'm sure I will feel the same way. I hope I don't become a germaphobe. Is micro a difficult class? I've heard mixed reviews.
  7. Hi 757! I applied to the RN program the beginning of June, took the TEAS on July 12th, had an interview on July 21st and received an acceptance on July 30th. :) I was required take the TEAS and have the interview before I received an acceptance. It stinks that you have to fly to VA to take the TEAS and have the interview. Riverside will notify you of your score the following day and if you pass, they schedule the interview ASAP. I took the TEAS on a Monday and was asked to schedule the interview that Thursday. (I had to schedule for the following week because of my work schedule) The TEAS is not difficult, Riverside requires a minimum score of 73.3. Purchase the ATI study guide and practice test and you will do fine. Did you like the LPN program, any advice for a newby? Good luck with the application process. Heather
  8. Hello! I received a conditonal acceptance letter from Riverside School of Health Careers. I will begin the day division starting in January and would love to hear from anyone else that may be attending. I can't wait to begin classes! Heather
  9. YISY4U, Check with the nursing school you are looking to attend. The school I am hoping to attend requires that you take the TEAS after submitting your application. The TEAS test is a beginning step within the application process. :)
  10. I scored an 81%. I have not been accepted into the program but I have an interview scheduled for next week. The school I have applied to requires a minimum score of 73.3%.
  11. Follow up: I passed the TEAS!!! JLV5646: Good luck tomorrow!!! Remember, deep breaths! :)
  12. Hi! I took the TEAS yesterday afternoon, and I'm eagerly awaiting my results. (I should have my score by Thursday afternoon) If you look over the ATI study guide, you will do fine. The vocab words are very simple. Read the questions carefully, take your time and you will be successful. : ) Oh! Watch your time with the math section, the time passes quickly. Good luck!!! Heather
  13. Hi Arielle239! I purchased the study guide and two practice tests from ATItesting.com. The cost is $60.00 for both but I think it is worth the money. The ATI practice tests are online but the study guide mentioned in the above post is an actual book. Hope this helps! :)
  14. I received a "B" in A&P I and II!!! I was so excited when I received my Spring semester grades. I just finished my application essay for nursing school and will be sending in my application. I am currently taking Developmental Psychology and will be taking Micro in the Fall. Congrats to everyone!
  15. Wow! That's really low. I heard that some schools don't require the science portion, so I double checked with Riverside to be certain. :) Yeah, I noticed that our last PM's were in December... this semester feels like a blur! That's ok though... I'm glad it's not dragging.
  16. I thought your user name look familiar!
  17. Hi! I spoke with someone in admissions a couple of months ago, and I believe the minimum pass rate is 73.33%. I was also told that Riverside uses version 4.00 of the TEAS test and science is included. The test if offered the second Monday of each month and you must register when you submit your application. I plan to apply after Spring semester and I know i will be very nervous about the TEAS test. When doy you hope to apply? Good Luck! ylwbtrfly84
  18. Hi! I'm looking to attend the January 2011 Evening/Weekend program. I have not heard that they are looking to stop the RN program. I would call or shoot the admission rep an email, she is very helpful and may be able to offer some insight regarding financial aid and securing a job after graduation. Good luck!
  19. Thanks!!! I really needed to hear those words of encouragement.
  20. Katie, Your email address did not post but feel free to send a PM. I think I will attend the evening and weekend program. I cannot quit my job and I like the idea continuing to bring in some income. Will you be applying when classes finish in May? I'm very nervous about the TEAS test. I bought the Kaplan study guide and will be ordering the ATI study guide in the coming weeks. I would love to keep in contact; it would be great to get to know a fellow classmate before entering the program. Oh, and I have never taken a Chemistry course and could use all the help I can get.
  21. Hi! Yes, I spoke with a rep in admissions and she said Chm 1 would cover the Chemistry requirement. I will be taking Dev. Chm on Thursday evenings at TNCC in Hampton. Are you applying for the day or evening schedule? I'm torn, I like the idea of working while in school but I also like the idea of finishing in two years instead of three. I figure it out eventually. Good luck!!!
  22. My professor rounded our grades, he said if we earned a .4 or higher then he rounded up. You deserve an "A", I hope your professor does the same thing. Did she round your test grades through out the semester? Fingers crossed!
  23. Thanks everyone! Good luck Heather! I'll be shooting for an A next semester.
  24. I received a "B"!!! I am shocked by my final grade. I was bummed out after my final exam and was expecting a "C" or even a "D". The official grades will be posted in a few days but I hope my professor didn't pull a typo.
  25. I got a "B"!!! My profressor posted our grades this evening. I'm in shock, I was honestly thinking a "C" or worse. Of course, now I'm questioning whether my professor wrote down the correct grade.
