  1. Louisiana(South in general) is trying hard to keep our pay low:banghead:
  2. Are LPNs that have been doing nothing but pushing pills:hrnsmlys: at a SNF at a big disadvantage, when it comes to the clinical testing? My care plan and head to toe skill is crusty:uhoh3:
  3. LPN Southern Louisiana, LTC $16.00 PMs
  4. Woo Hoo... I passed. I studied for 3 days @3hrs qday, nothing I studied was on test...lol.
  5. OK.. Did mine today..I feel spanked. I thought I knew something..I was wrong...WOW! Cut off at 85I think..It went by fast
  6. That does not sound like a good place to work. I'm working at a place like "Travel50" runs.. Love it.
  7. Sorry, I have the opposite problem.. I need frozen underwear to stop the heat... Might be my manapause though
  8. I took mine today, stopped at 85... Feel like it spanked me too:uhoh21:
  9. 2/4 for me.. I wasn't nervous until I went through this thread :)
  10. Congrats!!! and Thanks, If I stop at 100 I won't panic(to bad)
  11. Owch, sorry for your delema. Yes, They can(You could hire a laywer and go for lost wages.. if you wanted to be blacklisted) . My only suggestion is ...Try to find a LTC part time position, there usually good with working with your schedual, easy to find, give experience, and...you get a check:) If and when your job actually starts you could switch to PRN. JM2cents.. :) I'v thought about the first year after grad and how it may be hard to find a position with our limited experience in that time, no job hopping for me.
  12. If I get a realy good tan.. Can I count? :)
  13. LOL.. I think there are some jobs where you gotta eat "poppy seed cake" just to go in. (This is a joke..I don't condone the consumption of seeds...lol)
  14. The demand for LPNs in Louisiana is still kicken like a chicken. I'm still a little confused about the LPNs are so limited bs.. We can't hang blood and we can't give a push... OK, That's about 0.5% of nurse work.
  15. AZO is the man..I wish I could watch what happens in his Nursing program but, RN instructors are smarter and sneakier. So be ready for the fun:D
  16. Wow.. This thread was like a juicy book. I ripped through every post, page waiting to see the outcome. I was afraid Algernon wouldn't come back to tell us..lol. Well, there goes my just wing-it idea..Thanks for the try and the story! I guess I'll study a little:D
  17. After a year, .5 of this I think I'v recognized a part of our problem. We as men think and act different than women, the instructors working with us already have us singled out as physicaly diff. but don't continue with the mental part? I also believe theres a "expecting more out of us" part to it. I know for a fact that I act and think diff. than the rest of my class(better or worse I don't know:D)
  18. Ewwwww.. Sick people...Stay awayyyyyy.:wink2: Hope your both better soon
  19. This is a perfect example of Nurses not sticking together. If the RNs would help by boycotting when this happens it would show unity instead of proving the problem we have of the RN-LPN complex. If 100 RNs put in a 2 week notice when this happened it would show that the LPNs were appreciated by the people(Real nurses as the hospital would say) they worked with. Societies "fend for yourself" mentality is such a dissapointment. When I started this career I thought that all nurses were a tight-knit group... Guess not?
  20. I'm thinking that if 100 LPNs get laid off...about 50 RNs are gunna quit when they start drowning ...Hope the secretaries can do wound care...LOL I"m very sure that suits & ties cut off oxygen to brains.
  21. I'v been told that if your an LPN you save time and money by going strait for RN B verses going for Assosiate first then going for Bach. ... Any opinions??
  22. Welcome to the world of "The nursing student" We have the same problem here.... Teaching isn't as important as testing.
  23. Conrad.. Did you get a sniff of perfume?
  24. You can get a very good cardiac model on ebay for $40. Theres a couple different sellers/makes but same sound quality at a Lit. Made a big difference for me.
  25. Our biggest grade factor is how well the teach likes ya.. Sounds like I may be bitter but, its true here.
