  1. I took the NCLEX-RN this past Tuesday morning. I did the Pearson Vue trick 2 hours after I got home. I got the pop up saying I couldn't register for another exam and to contact whomever at PV. I'm in IL so I could do the quick results this morning and I PASSED!!!!!!!! :) I am on cloud 9!
  2. I second Mayo Clinic. My Grandpa was up there last week for an aortic valve replacement surgery. They are amazing.
  3. You just do it. Everyone has a system that works for them. What's important for me to keep up with in my daily life during school is not important to another person. You have to be flexible with your schedule, for sure. You'll jump in and figure out what works best for you. Good luck!
  4. I'm the same way, I'd rather scrub the toilets than study somedays. I have 2 finals on Friday and the last one on the 18th. I had every intention of studying tonight after putting my son to bed. He's been in bed over an hour...
  5. You are not alone. I'm suffering from "senioritis" and I'm not a senior yet! I have 8 weeks of class left for this semester and level 3 of 4 is done. Allow yourself a break here and there. I've found that making a list of everything I need to do, and then crossing them off as I finish, helps a lot. You see that you are actually accomplishing things instead of focusing on the stuff not yet done!
  6. "Failure is not an option" "They only have me for x more weeks" "If Nursing were easy, everyone would do it"
  7. I didn't have a 4.0 and admission into my program was based on GPA and completed pre-req's. You should go for it!!
  8. Don't put your instructors on such high pedestals. They are human too! :) I agree with talking to your instructors about this and asking what they suggest you do. Good luck!
  9. Get the book Fluids and Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy! This is a subject you want to know well.
  10. You made a mistake. You recognized it, owned up to it and contacted the doctor. You're human. Thankfully, it worked out! Be a little kinder to yourself. :)
  11. :yeah:Yes, this is very true. Haha! My husband is guilty of this as well (he's an EMT and in the Paramedics class). He'll yell at the TV "That's a NON shockable rhythm!!!"
  12. I'm in my 3rd level of the RN program. I haven't had a "bad" clinical instructor yet. I've had two that I didn't mesh well with and thought them to be very wishy-washy, but they were good people. I recently completed my OB rotation and had a FANTASTIC clinical instructor. She was very good at pulling us into learning situations and creating some of her own for us. You just have to take the good with the bad. Luckily, for me, there's been more good than bad so far.
  13. You begin to check out the veins of strangers in the grocery store...
  14. There's no way I could have taken another class on top of the nursing classes and clinicals. If you've loaded yourself down before and done well, then go for it. You know what you can handle.
