  1. I too had 75 questions. I thought for sure I failed with all the SATA questions that I got. Take a deep breath. Let it out. And Relax. More then likely you passed. It seems as if more pass at 75 questions then fail. I know its hard to do, but there is nothing you can do now. When you read those 4 sweet little letters that say PASS on your quick results...all your emotions will sweep over you. Your finally done...Your a nurse! Good luck!
  2. He may be a junior senator for the state of illinois now, but he was in the Illinois state senate before he ran for the US Senate. So he did have a hand in what our situation is like now. Dont get me wrong I do like Obama. I come from a working class family, rooted in unions. I am hoping that he does get elected as President because I dont think our country can go through another 8 years like we just have. Can it get worse? Lord I hope not.
  3. I live in north central IL and the area seems to pay new grad rns anywhere from 19 to 22 per hour base pay and then most of the hospitals pay 3 dollar shift diff for midnights. Its not bad for the area since the cost of living is lower then Chicago.
  4. It took me about 2 weeks after I tested to get my letter from the state.
  5. Congrats to you!!! Now you can really celebrate!!*wine
  6. I tested on Fri the 13th of June.
  7. I traveled about 60-65 miles away. That was the nearest testing center. I had to wait for 3 weeks till I could test at that center.
  8. I took mine on June 13th and still have not gotten my paperwork yet. I got my unofficial results with Pearson Vue, but nothing from the BON yet. I checked their website to see if anything was on there and its not yet. So if anyone has the answer to this question...help us out! :plsebeg:
  9. Congrats!!
  10. Congratulations!!
  11. I didnt take a live face to face review. I think it is all in how you study and how you learn. What type of learner are you? DO you learn by reading, hearing it in front of you, applying it with programs? I had the Kaplan review book, I read some of their strategies and tips, did the 180 practice test CD that came with the book. I used Saunders for repetition and for content. If there was an area that I forgot, I would read the rationales. It was a good refresher. I passed with 75 questions. I dont think anyone can take that test and feel 100% prepared. You never know what kind of questions it is gonna throw at you. Sometimes you have to make an educated guess. If you can get it down to 2 choices then you have a 50-50 chance of getting it right. So, all in all, I would say that if you learn by hearing ppl lecture then do the live review, if you daze off and your mind wanders look into something else. Do what worked well for you in school.
  12. Congrats!! I had 75 questions and around 5 math questions. Sad part is I liked the Math even though I thought they were lower end questions...then I atleast knew I got a few right! LOL...I got a 853 on Hesi and passed the NCLEX with 75. I also did tons of review questions. repetition is the key!!
  13. Congrats!!! New RN!!!
  14. Congrats!!!! Doesn't it :yeah:feel wonderful!!!!
  15. Cots Lori, RN!!!! The wait is horrible but seeing those 4 beautiful letters in breathtaking!!! PASS!!!!!
  16. We all feel used and abused after that test. That is the quickest why to having your brain go into overdrive and then just meltdown. you probably did better than you think you did. I felt like an absolute failure after the test. That I just wasted 4 years of my life on school and couldn't believe that I got even one right. Keep us posted on how you did.
  17. Life has a way of kicking us in the rear. Dont give up. If nursing is your passion then keep on going. Take a deep and relax until you find out for sure. Many have passed with that number. You may have surprised yourself!!
  18. I used the CD and got a 74% and passed the NCLEX with 75 questions. I think the key to the NCLEX is repetition of questions that you do to practice and understanding what the question is asking.
  19. Well I would say if you have a lot of help planning your wedding then I would do the wedding. But since you are still in school and if you dont have a lot of help I would wait until after the nclex. The last year in school can be rough, time consuming, and brutal at times. Having all of that and planning a wedding could be overwhelming. I graduated in the middle of May and took my test on June 13th. That was the earliest test date I could get. I am glad I did. The NCLEX is nothing to take lightly. It is intense and the studying after you graduate is difficult when you have nothing going, I cant imagine a wedding too!!!
  20. Congrats Nathan!!! I took my test on the 13th and passed too!!! Friday the 13 is not unlucky for us!!! Melony, RN
  21. Well keeping your mind off it is easier said then done. I went out for dinner right after the test and then went boat shopping. I was trying to imagine what I am gonna be able to purchase with my new RN income. The following day my husband took me out on our old boat for the day. We had fun, a few drinks, and enjoyed the warm day. Everytime it got quiet though my mind would wander back to worrying about the test. The 48hrs do seem like forever. I would lay awake at night and just worry myself sick. I did not cry after the test, nor during those 48hrs, but when I seen pass on the screen this morning I wept like a baby. All of the emotions came pouring out of me. Your best bet is try to get a good night of sleep tonight. After the test keep yourself as busy as you can. Rent a bunch of movies, go hiking, anything to keep busy. I even thought about scouring my bathroom, but that thought faded quick..lol. It will be difficult after the test, but once you get your results its like 10000lbs is off your back and then your life can begin. Good luck tomorrow!
  22. I see in the future that it will be Lori RN. I thought for sure that I failed. Nobody really understands that unless they took that awful test. I was so nervous this morning to check the results that I had my husband do it for me. It was just too much to handle. I passed with 75 questions and I would have bet my life on it that I failed. Yesterday we went out boating on the river all day just to get my mind off it. It helped but everytime it got quiet my mind drifted back to worrying about the test. Peole say to relax its overwith but that is easier said then done. Everyone in my fam kept telling me...oh you passed...you did good in school...dont worry about it. That made things worse. I thought I let everyone down. It is so hard to understand how it feels for us unless they are in our shoes. Let me know how it goes. Ill be praying for ya.
