You don't necessarily need either to get into CM. On your resume/application, highlight your experiences with pt education, health coaching, care coordination, and collaboration with different members of the Tx team. You can tell a prospective employer that you are preparing for/planning to work toward CCM. Best wishes!!!!

Case Management might be a good fit for you. SW doesn't pay well, and options are limited. A nurse CM role though will incorporate your training and experience and you'll have normal hours and good pay. Best wishes 😀

I think you should fulfill this goal. It sounds like it has always been in your heart and mind. Nursing is a 2nd profession for me and I was in my 30s in nursing school but in my class there were 2 ladies older than you. I even worked with a nurse who was in her 70s and the best smartest most capable nurse I ever worked with!! Best of luck to you !

Good luck! I totally understand. I stayed in ltc for the required year and it has just about ended my desire to be in nursing...until I QUIT for a hh job which I haven't started yet! I was going to suggest that if you stayed in your ltc job that you keep documentation of everything; notes for yourself. As you said, the environment you have been working in risks your license and the company is bigger than us little nurses! Good move. I hope you like hh!!

thanks for the input, everyone; its interesting how schools do it so differently. I am not panicking anymore but I will attempt to avoid that exam; from what I'm learning, in our text, it could be dangerous if you're not "a skilled practitioner" ......maybe the same could be said for a foley though or IV.....so hopefully it will be uneventful and a memory soon.....!!!!!!!!!

I appreciate your responses; I'm really anxious about it and I don't want to do it after school. I was very assertive in my other clinicals but this one; not feeling that way! I hope mine turns out to be observational mostly too. Thanks again! A.:nuke:

Hello everyone I was wondering if it is the norm for students to do exams during L&D; I had read somewhere, maybe on this site, that most schools do not allow students to do this as you really have to be trained/experienced/etc. to not possibly cause damage. My studies in the text indicate something similar. What do you think? Thankyou and I hope everyone is doing well.

i am proud to this day of my a in micro !! it is not my only a but it was a tough class for me. i worked hard for it. and with your busy life, you must have to work xtra hard for good grades. i also work ft- i understand what you're saying: ns is not your only life...i think to some kids it is. (i'm not a kid either)

...thanks for coming up to him and inviting him out for a drink with y'all right in front of me ........and leaving me out in the cold. ...........i still have my 4.0 after year one. good for you. it can be hard to make friends in a new environment but most of us aren't there for new drinking/sleeping buddies. you have self-reliance and a great gpa...keep it up !!!!!

[i really am not going to bozo's school of nursing, they just forgot to tell some that applied that adults go to college and children are still holding mommies hand in pre-school! that is hysterical; are you serious with those?!! i'm sure its not bozo's school but i have to tell you....some people just don't get it; college, that is !!!!

when you don't even take a nap on one free day out of 2 months....way too much cleaning and free time to have !!!!!!

thanks for this opportunity: 1. to some of my fellow students: thank you for being easy to work with and fun to learn with. now for the frustrating getting it off my chest stuff: 2. i will never again share a project to 'compare' a 'vague' assignment...do your own work. 3. it is so wonderful that you work in a hospital as a tech or assistant or whatever but you are not my teacher ..for whom i have paid a lot of money to listen to; not you. 4. do you really think it is wise to let yourself take rx relaxers on occasion or have a drink before a test when you are a nursing student? i will keep up with where you work and will not let you ever take care of me or someone i care about. i know its stressful, but buy some ice creame or go swimming. 5. buy your own books and use them from time to time. 6. yes we are a 'close group' but i paid my own tuition and my grades come in my name: every single thing is not a x@#! group project. i admit i've been in a bad mood today, frustrated with new classes already; but it feels great to say these things that you can't really say.... great idea thanks
