Interpretation of these physician orders
Hi....i know this is just a bonehead nursing student question...but yesterady our instructor tested us on paper on how to interpret these physicians orders: 1) Salbutamol 1 nebule via USN now X 3 doses then every 30 minutes My interpretation: It means that I should give a salbutamol inhalation as a STAT dose then I should give 3 more doses continously without intervals (e.g. 15 minutes, 30 minutes) then I should give the medication every 30 minutes after my 3rd dose... Is this correct?...or did I miss something Also, when giving the inhalation following the 30 minute interval when should I start counting my 30 minutes: A. After the inhalation was complete ( e.g 9:30 inhalation was given; 9:45 inhalation was finished then I should give the med at 10:15?) or B. Should I start counting from the time that I have given the dose (started 9:30, finished 9:45 give the next dose at 10:00?) Which one should I follow?.... 2. Situation: Shift Cefuroxime 750 mg IV push to Ceftriaxone 1 gram IV push q8hrs ANST Cefuroxime last given: 8:00 Am My interpretation: Disconinue the Cefuroxime...Do the skin test for Ceftriaxone then wait until 4:00 P.M. to give the initial dose dose... Am I correct?... Man, eventhough I have answered my instructors questions but I have that lingering doubt that there is something wrong on my answers... Could someone help me please?... Thank you...

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
Hi, I just want to ask a question: I paid the fees in order to have my IELTS results forwarded to ICHP, however the British Council told me that they need my CGFNS Number so that they could send a hard copy to ICHP. But unfortunately, I dont have a CGFNS Number because i did not apply for any CGFNS Services up until now. They also told me that they could send my results electronically but they could not send a hard copy of it. Do CGFNS Accepts results electronically? or should I wait for my CGFNS Number when CGFNS has received my application form?

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
hi guys, recently i have passed the NCLEX-RN Exams for Vermont last July 27, known the results 48 hours later via the Internet and i am also finished taking the IELTS Exam. Eventhough, i have passed the NCLEX, i still don't have a registration number and a license from the state of Vermont. Here are my questions: a. on the question statement "did passing of this exam (NCLEX-RN) lead to a license being issued in the same State/Province and Country?" should i answer "No" on that question?...because eventhough i passed my NCLEX Exams for Vermont...i cannot still process my license because my confirmation letter that i have passed the exams hasn't arrived yet. b "If licensed in the United States, Canada or Australia, please list the state or province in which you were licensed _______________________________ Registration Number_______________________" Should i leave this statement blank?...because i still dont have a registration number and license from the VErmont BON I'm very confused on this statemets and these are the only questions that hindering me from passing my VisaScreen Application...I just want to beat the November 15 deadline on my IELTS exams taken 2 years ago... Thank you in advance...:wink2:

Working while Reviewing: doable?
I think that working in a hospital and at the same time reviewing for the NCLEX is doable. That is what I am doing right now. Everytime i go on duty, I always bring my Saunders Comprehensive Review Book to read during the shift if we are not busy at that time. Everyday, I practiced a 100 questions after my duty hours. With Commitment,Discipline and a strong faith both on ourselves and God,we could achieve our goal of becoming an RN in the U.S.A....:)

to all NCLEX passers; whats your NLE scores?
84%...however i dont believe that the average you got in the NLE will be a determining factor whether you could pass the NCLEX or not. I have lots of friends who have a low average in the NLE yet passed the NCLEX on their first try. It all depends on the person...

effective review books in preparation for dec 2007 NLE
In preparing for the June 2007 Boards Exams, I used Saunders Compre Review because the materials are easy to understand in that book. I also suggest that you practice answering questions taking note of the rationale and the incorrect answers as well. Finally, practice your Critical Thinking Skills in answering questions.
