There is nothing like a career in Nursing to make you more assertive and help you learn to stand up for yourself, and more importantly, give you the courage to stand up and be an advocate for your patient(s). You may read this and think "Oh I couldn'...

  19. Fun THings to Do at Work

Pot luck once a month or so is a great morale booster. Costs virtually nothing and when you get your senior leadership for your department to participate it's great. A very relaxed time for all. Also, we have a Christmas party outside the hospital an...
  20. Starting my very first job

Hang in there Tinker. I don't think there is a nurse alive who didn't feel that way when they first graduated and started work. You can do it. You graduated and passed boards. That was the hard part. Enjoy. This is what you have dreamed of doing. CON...

  22. The Circumcision Discussion

Nursee, I don't know where you are getting your figures from, but you should double check them before you involve a whole country. You stated that Canada was one of the countries mostly intact. In my years there working, NOT. The uncircumsed male of ...

  24. How many of you married doctors?

I hate to point it out, but marrying someone or dating them just because they are a doctor is doomed to fail. How about looking for a great person? Sure if you wound up marrying someone with money etc then it would be a bonus, but I wouldn't have tha...

Nope you aren't crazy. Very courageous in fact. It takes guts to stand up and say "No. I don't want to do that". Too many times people who are non-nurses don't seem to understand those of us who are content to remain primary bedside caregivers. They ...
