I am in my 3rd semester and I have had clincals As Henry Ford Wyandotte, Sinai-Grace (DMC) St, John Main, and I currently have clincals at Henry Ford Main.

I have a question for those who have had S.T. for clinicals any pointers?!? I am a bit nervous I am trying to over come that before I see her in person. I had her for pharm, she said herself she is by far the most difficult clinical instructor at our school. I have heard horror stories about Med errors, but other than that I know she expects you to know and remember EVERYTHING!! I just want to have an idea what i am going into so I am a little at ease. Thank you for your time good luck in the last semester, I am sure you will do great!! :-)

I reccomend with your uniforms ordering them offline I ordered from a site call allheart.com The uniform place is not the most reliable They still havent made my 2nd name badge and that was a year ago when I ordered it. I am hoping I get it by the time graduate in December!!!

Well Pharm. has a lot of info to learn. It also depends on who's your instructor. Med. Surg II was hard but I had it the second half of the semester and I guess the first half didn;t find it as challenging. If you have any questions you can e-mail me at [email protected].

Now this is what I do not saying it is the healthiest idea but it has helped me so far....we just snack and eat lots of candy , and drink pepsi.

I know I am with you.... And to add to my anxiety I have S.thomas for clinicals and I have not heard anything good about her i figured I would have atleast a good time at clinicals.. We WILL do it!

I agree with Zembalina if you have Med Surg II the first 7 1/2 weeks start studying that now... You will want to know Cardiac, Cardiovascular and Respiratory systems. I believe chapters 30-40. You want to know " How the body is changing, What you will see and what will you do" Trust me that class was the hardest class I have had so far I am so Thankful I passed..

Not only are there cutbacks at beaumont also at Oakwood they are laying off people there...

Does anyone know what hospital S. Thomas has clinicals at? Or who usually are the other instuctors??

I made it through OB but I am on to med surg II. I am a little nervous heard theory was a little intense. Congrats to you guys and good luck!!

I had CP and MD for all of my first semester instructors, even though MD could be quite intimindating she wanted the best for her students. I would highly recommend them to you. They are great!! if you have any other questions you can e-mail me at [email protected]!!

I was just curious on any information. I do not mind having a hard instructor I enjoy learning as much as possible because a persons life is our precious hands. But there are a few instructors at Wayne County that I have heard are impossible!Thank you for the information. I have enjoyed WCCC Nursing program and I would highly recommend Wayne County to anyone. Good luck to everyone! :)

I am currently in the first semester of WCCC Nursing program I love it! I feel I was more than prepared for clinicals. There are two other schools on the same floor as us and we have not made half the amount of mistakes as they did, for example administering the wrong medication to a patient. This subject ticks me off everytime it comes up. WCCC may not be at the top of everyones list to apply for but atleast I did not have to wait 1- 2 years on a waitlist and I am not paying out my rearend for an education and still sit and take the same boards as us WCCC Students! :chuckle

I just registered for pharm at Wayne County, the instructor I have is Sheryl Thomas. Has anyone had her or heard anything about her? I have never heard of her before. I went on ratemyprofessors and she has bad ratings but so does some of my fav. instructors. if someone could give me any info I would really appreciate it. Thank You!!

I have Maddie and Caroline for instructors and from what I understand they have a table where you will be given a D.O. you must confirm if it has all 7 components of a correct Drug Order. Then you will time tape your IV bag, I believe they will check it and we will then we will hang the bag. I think we have 5 -10 minutes to do this. All with no talking. Maddie says we should know in 5 seconds to have the correct gtt/min. so PRACTICE!!! Good luck to you!
