  1. I'm in 4 first too but at receiving with S.G. and then at childrens with whoever the theory teacher is. (cant remember her name). Good luck, I have been reading these neuro chapters and they are pretty deep.
  2. You can't go wrong at henry ford main. You will either get the guy who is really nice and will help you on any skills you feel you are lacking or you will get s.t. and she will make u bust your butt and you will come out feeling like if you got through that, you can do anything. :) missigg... congrats to you too! I know s.t.'s clinical was by far the most difficult for me, but i do think i am better for it. she is actually nice and was willing to help with some things that i was new too. i guess u just have to ask =) ok all done and over with. where are you going this semester?
  3. Congratulations and good luck on the NCLEX!!! :yeah:Whats the exit RN exam? Do you take that after the mandatory 2 wk review?
  4. Rn2b, dont get stuck on what everyone else says about anything in nursing school. You have to form your own opinion on everything for yourself. Pysch was sooo interesting to me and I have never worked as hard as i did in med-surg 3 to date. Lol dont let that scare you though, I did it and feel i will be a better nurse because of it. Where are you going for your clinicals? Hang in there, study hard and you will do great =) good luck
  5. To all the Wcccd Med-Surg 4 & Pediatric student nurses: Hang in there! A mere 16 wks and we are done!!!!! Congrats and good luck on your final semester :yeah:
  6. If you can get in then you have to take hsc 100 at wcccd even if you arent going to attend their program. Only take Diedo, she is amazing and teaches so well. I started out not too good in math but now I have never missed a math question since her class. Titration... No Problem =)
  7. Thomas is a good teacher i had her for pharm & med surg 3, she is tough though. Tests arent bad, basically nursing interventions and side effects. Esch is a whole different story! Some losers stole some test answers and passed them around a couple semesters ago so now she is taking it out on everyone else. Try understanding the pathophysiology of all the diseases and it makes it so much easier. Good Luck
  8. IM not sure if its ok to post a link or not so if it gets removed just email me. http://www.4shared.com/file/31751714/f62b552/Brunner_and_Suddarths_Textbook_of_Medical-Surgical_Nursing_0781731933.html
  9. To Michigan RN: Ya I think it was investigated but there was no proof. Dont worry though if they coldnt make it out of MSII without cheating then they wont make it through. It was a fluke that they were able to get those answers and theres no way that will happen in MS 3 or 4. Besides most of those people are failing in Psych right now. Sometimes its scary who will potentially be ur nurse someday. Brandi: Great! I'm glad u got a reprieve. I just try to understnad the pathology of the disease like RN said. If you understand how it works then you can kind of retrace the scenario in your head. Good Luck! Do yo want the link for the brunners book online?
  10. I can tell you who not to take... Ms. Wofford. She is a great lady, very nice but she is too old too teach and will not give you what you need. Take Maddie, I personally do not like her as a person but she is an excellent teacher and if you apply yourself she will turn you into a math genius. haha I was never strong in math before but after taking maddie I have never gotten less than 100% on my math exams in clinical. That is very important especially because in ur 2nd year you must get 100% on those tests. She has this whole system that she follows and it works every time! Good luck
  11. Well if ur in MS 2 that must mean that you have Ms. E. Good luck she is super hard because some idiots (never found out who) got the answers to one of her tests and went from having a 56% on the first exam to getting a 100% on the second exam! Some people have no sense. So shes ****** now and made everything quite a bit harder. She does follow brunners instead of med-surg for her lecture and usually she covers about most of the test. I dont know if thats changed though. Do you tape record? Do you have brunners? I know alot of people are buying it, they say its easier reading. I have a pdf format of the book if you would like it. Just p me with ur email address. Good Luck!:)
  12. you should study your book first and foremost. Then you can used supplemental materials like an nclex book or most books have study guides that accompany them and there is usually a student resource website. What book are you using? Don't worry the critical thinking comes with time. I am in MS 3 and my critical thinking skills are so much better now than in the first MS course. Good Luck
  13. Hi hillarypeace, what does that link say when you click on it?
  14. One thing that I have learned is to never listen to the gossip that others have to say. Most of the time its because they personally had some trouble and are justifying it. Next, those teachers are never just going to throw you into something and expect u to know everything. They will tell you exactly what they expect from you and you can go from there and decide what things you need to work on. Also, your syllabus should outline what is expected. One good thing to have if your instructor will allow you is a recorder. Record all the theorys so you dont miss anything, most instructors will let you. Good Luck!
  15. Dont worry the lines will cut way down after the book rush is over, usually after they stop accepting the book vouchers. I think that there is so much security because this campus is so much better than the last and they are taking so much more pride in it. I kinda feel like I go to a real college now haha. Good luck in nursing, your first year is going to fly by :)
