  1. The VA is a government job, so they have to try to fill their positions internally first. Not just from within the hospital, anyone who works for the federal government can apply (well, in this case they'd have to be a nurse). If there are no suitable applicants, I believe they open it up to vets. And then anyone can apply. Good luck! I know some very nice people there. While it's not perfect, like I said, it's a government job with government benefits. Plus, the next time you're looking for a job, you can view all those internal postings.
  2. I know what you mean. I'm hoping to keep myself very, very busy to the point where I don't think about it at all. Yeah, right.
  3. Thanks, all! Just dropped off my app, too. Oldcatlady and Dibbs, hopefully we'll all see each other in the fall!
  4. Good luck to you!
  5. Does anyone know if Nassau Community College wants official or unofficial transcripts? I would assume official, but since we submit them ourselves rather than having them sent from the school, that sort of renders the whole "official" part moot, doesn't it. Does anyone know the answer? I attended the info session last semester and now I can't remember!
  6. I was just wondering if anyone cared to share their secrets for staying awake, staying energized, and/or staying focused, be it during marathon study sessions for finals (which I am in the midst of) or just the day-to-day stuff throughout the semester. So what does it for you? An IV drip of Starbucks? Meditation breaks? Do tell!
  7. I just had to speak up and offer my thanks as well. I've not only used your notes to fill in the gaps in my own, but your organisation has been inspirational and totally improved the way I structure my notes. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity! :heartbeat
  8. Thanks, guys. I will definitely check out tthe Barron's book. It's good to hear that it can be handled without the extra classes. That's a load off my mind.
  9. I'm finishing up my pre-req's this year, but I was looking for some advice. I'm planning on taking Medical Microbio in the Spring. At my school there is no pre-req for the class, BUT I feel like I may need a refresher, since I haven't taken a general bio or chem class since high school (almost 10 years ago!). I will have A&P under my belt, will that be enough? Or should I take something like BIO 101? Something else? Thanks!
