  1. Hello HarmsMomma, I am also interested in Davenports Nursing program. I would like to know if the nursing instructors are very helpful, encouraging and available for support? I was in a nursing program else where and the nursing instructors there were not encouraging, made you feel like an idiot, support was scarce and kept you on pins and needles at all times. Believe me I do not want to experience that ever again.
  2. Hi, Ms. Nurse Assistant, I'm from Michigan also. Would like to know what was your starting pay with no experience?
  3. I feel your pain. I received my certification on Sept. 19th. I too have applied to numerous CNA positions in my area (Detroit) and heard nothing until yesterday. Had a phone interview today. So I suggest to you, as frustrating as it may seem, continue to job search and be patient your time will come before you know it.
  4. If taking respirations manually, two tricks are watching the shoulders rise and fall, and/or taking the arm that you are taking the pulse with and place it across the patient's chest. Hope this helps.
  5. Hey Michigan RN, I am a new CNA who would love to work ER for HFH main in Detroit. I would like to know if HFH hire CNA's or ER techs to work in ER?

  10. Thanks Jackyo for the info. I am going to go to Fort street to see if I can get things moving alot faster. As I stated above my next orientation is April 24th and to me that is too long. The person over at 707 Milwaukee stated that there is a wait list for the LPN program.
  11. To any HFCC nursing students, got a couple of questions to ask I would like to know how long are your nursing classes 7 1/2 or 15 weeks long? What is the criteria for getting into the nursing program? How long is the waiting list and/or how long did you have to wait to get accepted?
  12. I also attended the information meeting at 707 milwaukee. There was no information stated about the LPN program at all, only about the resources offered at Michigan Works. My next orientation meeting is April 24th. I guess I have to wait until then to find out about the LPN program. Is there anyone who attended orientation at the Fort St. Location and if so please tell me the information you received if any about the LPN program.
