How to get rid of the plumber's crack?
I am currently a CNA in a LTC. My problem is, by the middle of the shift, I'll be showing a little of myself everytime I bend down. I'm a big guy about 250lbs down from 300lbs. From all the lifting and repositioning, I tend to sweat and my pants seem to get looser and my undershirt gets untucked. That's where my problem begins. I've tried many different things to avoid the problem: re-tucking my shirt, wearing a larger undershirt, wearing a tighter undershirt, tieing (sp?) my pants as tight as possible. Being that I'm going to be working in a hospital (ortho) within two weeks, I really don't want everybody in the hospital to see my plumber's crack. Any suggestions?

Apply before or after being given reciprocity?
Sorry for the long post. Well I'm hopefully finishing this same situation. I moved from Florida to NJ. I applied for jobs at the same time that I started the reciprocity process(1 week before moving). In my resume I put my FL license number along with the date I started the process. I also made sure to state it in my cover letter. I started the process on the second week of Nov and I still haven't gotten the final approval. I did the fingerprinting and passed the background. I'm just waiting for the final approval from the State. I applied to every job that came up. In Jan, I got hired to a nursing home. They accepted me as a nurse's aid not a CNA($2 less). Take whatever you want from my situation. I'd say start applying.

How long until you get a call?!?!?!
How long after I apply should I call HR to check on my application?

How long until you get a call?!?!?!
For those of you who have recently been hired or know of someone: I got my certification since Sept 16. I have been applying to every CNA position in my area. I have sent them my resume along with a personalized cover letter. I have tried to go to their HR departments but every front desk person tells me to apply online and wait for their call. I just don't know what to do now, but to wait for their call.

Lots of CNA Queshtions
Well I took a CNA Challenger class in the Tampa Bay area. It was only for three days (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). It was a total of about 40 hours. They also have twice a week review days. I just passed the test and waiting for the hospital that I want to work for to call me for an interview. Some of my classmates have already started their jobs because they applied before taking the test. Once they passed; they brought the paperwork to their HR and started within the week. I didn't want to do that just in case I would have failed.

What do the night CNA's do?
I'm planning on becoming a PCT at nights while going to school in the mornings. I would like to know what do the CNA/PCT do at nights at the hospitals? I saw some of the job descriptions and most of them has to be done while the patient is awake(at least I think). Also is there a difference if they work in med/surg or icu?
