Passed NCLEX -PN with 85 questions
I took my exam on August 25th at 3 pm. My instructor had told us that if we came out of the exam feeling like we failed then we probably passed. When My computer shut off at 85 I so oh know I know I did not pass because I don't feel like I failed. I know crazy. Well I left and came home and did the PRV trick and got the pop up. Probably checked it 15 times in those 48hrs. Well came home from my new job today and got my quick results and I passed. I cried, even though I didn't cry after the test. So that goes to show you just because you don't have a negative feeling after the test it does not mean you failed. I had about 25-30 SATA's. My third question was an SATA, I was like these are the questions I want, i had lots of priority, infection control and was thinking god for the infection control mneumonics on the random fact throwing sticky, patient teaching, which patient to see first, about 12 pharm and 2 math which were pretty straight forward. I am glad its over and now I can relax. Thanks to all those that posted tips, sent me study aids and prayed for me. I used the Saunder's 3rd edition, part of suzannes plan, mosbys illustrated pn, ATI, and NCLEX 3000. I probably did about 3000 questions all together and took the Sylvia Rayfield review through school using the Nursing made insanley easy book, which has lots of pictures and mneumonics to help you out. Well good luck to all of those testing soon and to those who are waiting for results. Just remember go into the test with confidence and do NOT study the day before the test and get a good nite sleep and eat a good breakfast to feed your brain. Sorry this post is so long but I thought some of this may help others that are planning to take the NCLEX. :wink2: :tbsk: Now for so much needed Rest!!!!

NCLEX Friday ... really scared plz help - should I reschedule
I was using the Saunders 3rd edition cd and about 3 days before NCLEX my scores started droping to around 65-68% I talked to my instructors and this is what she told me you made A's al through the course and the predictor said you have a 97% chance of passing the first time. You know this stuff do not reschedule just go take the exam and stop studying before you start doubting the answers that you are choosing because I think thats whats happen with you, so thats what I did yestrday afternoon, got home and did the trick and got the pop up still waiting to be able to get my quick results I also have talked to someone who kept putting hers off and she said the same thing everytime it got close to the time for her to take it she felt like she was not ready. I believe you will feel like that no matter whether you decide to reschedule it and the next time you will feel the same way. But no body knows but you whether you feel ready or not, if you believe you truly need more time to study then reschedule it, but do not reschedule due to test anxiety because that part will not change. But like i stated above only you know whether you are truly ready or if you are just afraid. Good Luck and let me know what you decide to do.

To all the LPN graduates, how are you getting ready for your boards?
There were to girls in our PN class that took board exactly 8 days after pinning and both passed. I just took mine yesterday which was exactly 3 weeks from pinning. I think when you set your date to take the test you make up your mind then to study and stick to it. Yesterday was the closest date that I could get after receiving my ATT. I used saunders 3rd edition, we took the Sylvia Rayfield review, so I used a book called nursing made insanely easy, and the mosby 15th edition illustrated study guide which was recommended by the review instructor I also watched the ATI videos that we got while in school. I won't have my official results until tomorrow but I finished with 85 questions and got the pop up when I did the pearson vue trick. I am still sort of nervous but the trick eased my mind after the test and I was able to go to bed last nite and finally SLEEP. which was much needed at this point. Good Luck to all those that are testing and remember to have confidence in yourself and take your time answering the questions. I got really stressed out from reading the post on here sat. and sunday so I just stopped reading them. By monday my stress level was really decreased and yesterday i just said a prayer before the exam and went in and took it. So try to do your streeing before test day and maybe by the time the test time comes you will be relaxed. Sorrry this post is so long. Good Luck and figure out what works best for you as far as studying and also check at the Random Fact throwing sticky in the NCLEX discussion form its great with lots of tips and memory aids.

Glory to God.... I passed my nclex pn !!!!
Just got back from NCLEX-PN. Don't know what to think my test was all over the place. Stopped at 85. About what seem like 2o-25 SATA,s 2 math lots of teaching, priority, infection control. No peds, 1 ob, a couple of legal issues and when I left I was thinking wasn't all that bad but still hard couldn't make up my mind whether I failed or passed. Did the trick after it said delivery successful and got the pop up that said I records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. Another registration can not be made at this time. I hope this is the pop up I needed to see I am really stressed and guess I will have to wait my 48 hrs for my quick results.

Sounds Like to me that you did it. I hope mine goes that way as well. You always feel like you failed but according to everyone else thats a good thing. At least you can calm tour nerves a little. A friend of mine took hers about a week ago her name was on the board of nursing in 24 hours and licenses and official results in her hand in less than a week. So I think you did it. I am going to just look over a few things tonigh. go to bed early do a few questions in the am and go take this dreaded test. Its no use in trying to cram anything into this head now. So thats my plan

Taking NCLEX-RN tomorrow morning!!!!!!! YIKES!
I know how you feel I take my Tuesday and have studied for about he last month and a half. I know I know this stuff but like you the more test I do the more drugs i see that I don't know. I feel like crying and screaming at the world. I was a straight A student in my class. Have a 97% chance of passing according to the predictor and all through school I said I am going to make an A. But this test scares me to death. I have only been out of school since August 3rd so i have not waited to long to take mine. I am just terrified and even thought about changing my date but everyone keeeps telling me not to that you never feel totally prepared for the NCLEX. Oh by the way I am taking the NCLEXPN and I am still nervous. So I don't think it matters which test you are still terrified I feel like going somewhere and hiding for now. :crying2::crying2:

Kaplan vs. ATI
Thank you. I had been reading the threads on her until a couple of days ago until I realized that my anxiety levels were through the roof and I was starting to self doubt myself. So I am watching which posts I read if any and not spending more than 15 min. on the site. Thank you again for your well wishes and alot of your posts have helped me as well. Well I will post on WED. I guess or maybe late tuesday nite if I get brave enough to do the"TRICK" Pray for me my exam is at 3pm Tuesday

Kaplan vs. ATI
I only check on here when I am taking a break. But I guess you are right there is a lot of posts that have a lot of negativity in them and sort of make you discouraged. I am sure the posters do not mean for it to come across that way but when you are studying you really don' t need to read alot of the bad stuff about the NCLEX. Well I am only replying to your post have not had the time today to be reading on here. Well back to the books my 30 min break is up now.

Kaplan vs. ATI
Several of the students in my class have already passed Nclex that took it a few days after we finished school. They reveiwed the ATI videos, all of them. look over the book from our review and passed. I am doing the same but I am also using saunders as well. I have the Kaplan strategies book also but they said that they were not able to use those strategies on the test. I am begining to wonder if the people who write the NCLEX questions have figured out a way to get around us being able to use the strategies to answer the questions. Well I take mine in 3 days so I am just taking a break from studying so I guess I need to get back to the books. Good Luck to all who are facing boards soon.

Just coming from NCLEX ( Getting pop ops blocker )
We were told not to take our tests together because If one finished before the other we might have more anxiety. But I do have two others going to to take their test the same day that I do It was not planned but worked out that way. The girl who was top of our class has taken hers and she said it was a rough test she thought she failed because the answers were so vague. So I guess with me 2nd top of class it makes me a little nervous but I am going to keep my date and hope I know enough to pass the dreaded NCLEX.

Just coming from NCLEX ( Getting pop ops blocker )
Sorry, I did not know that it worked that way. But I am positive that you passes. You have given alot of people on here help before you even took your boards. I am happy for you because like I said I know you passed. Well I take mine in 4 days. I thought about rescheduling just because of all the anxiety but I thought about it and if I reschedule the anxiety will still be there the next time. I have only been out of school for about a little over 2weeks because when I take boards it still wont be three weeks. Well wish me luck I have just heard so many horrror stories on this board in the last few weeks that this anf the fact throwing threads are about the only ones I am reading. i do not need anymore anxiety or frustration than i already have. Well I am getting ready to call it a nite. I will let you know how I do and keep posting those tips you are easing my anxiety a little so I need all the support I can get right now.:wink2:

Just coming from NCLEX ( Getting pop ops blocker )
Prado Thank you for all of your tips and help. I am looking forward to more of your posts before I take my boards. i know you said you had to wait for your results to be mailed, but does your name appear on the board of nursing website before then because I know of some who do not pay for quick results here that wait for about 72hrs and then check their state board of nursing to see if their names are there i didn't know if they would work where you are or not. Like I said I had friends to take boards last Tuesday and their license was recieved in the mail on saturday so maybe it won't take you that long to get your official results. :wink2:

Kaplan vs. ATI
I hope you are right. We used ATI all through school and I got a 97% on my predictor. but we used the sylvia Rayfield review for NCLEX I wish we would have continued with ATI I liked the questions and have did the test so much I have just about memorized my answers well I am testing on Tuesday so I hope I have studied enough I am still reviewing and doing questions. So wish me luck.

MAs are better than LPNs and RNs?
I am a CMA and a new practical nurse graduate. My salary as a per diem CMA was 14.00 an hour now thats more than I would make an hour in a dr offices as a CMA here. The hospital only pays a new LPN 13.50 where the nursing home pays between 17.00 and 21.00 so I am sure the RN makes more. Your friend was probably handed the same bull that I was while I was becoming a CMA. I was told that CMA's were going to take over the job as an LPN. Tell your friend to try and get a job in a nursing home or in a hospital as an MA. She will not get a job because they do not hire them or at least here in North carolina. I have both and I am planning on getting my RN I think your friend has been misinformed but DR's office's will hire an MA because they don't have to pay them as much as a Nurse would make. MA,s do not have the ability to assess a patient nor to critically think in a situation that a nurse would have to use those skills. We were taught critical thinking but not to the point as we were in nursing school and about 7 of the girls in my nursing class were CMA,s before coming into the program and I am sure that they did not do it because they would be making less. An LPN can draw blood if they are trained just like pushing IV Meds it all depends on where you work and the training that you receive. If your friend was to take the practical nursing course should would change her mind about the way she thinks but this is the type of misleading information that they are given by those who hire them or they go through a program. The board of nursing at convention this year assured us that the LPN will not be phased out and that they are even trying to widen our scope of practice.

Just coming from NCLEX ( Getting pop ops blocker )
to give up there are plenty of stories on her of those that had to take it many times and succeeded. Believe in yourself and do not let the NCLEX defeat you. Continue to study and if you feel like you are not ready right before your test date then reschedule. Have you read the fact throwing thread. When I get tired of doing questions and reading rationales I just click on the sticky and read through it one page at a time. There are alot of helpful hints on their and ways to remember things. Just remember You will be a Nurse. Do not let anxiety consume you are go into the test feeling like you will fail because you will. Take your time to answer the questions and if you absolutely do not know the answer then try and make an educated guess. Remember we just have to prove we are safe nurses not that we know everything. Take care of yourself and learn relaxation techniques in case your nerves get the best of you during the test. There was even aposter that stated that if armotherapy works for you then go to bath and body works, buy you favorite scent, wear it the day of the test and when anxiety starts creeping up then just smell the scent on your arm, hands or wherever and let your anxiety melt away. I believe in you and you will beat this test and be a great nurse. No one ever has to know how many times you had to take boards to become the wonderful nurse that you know that you can be. Keep me posted on how things are going. I take mine next tuesday so I will post and let you know how it goes. One thing that I have learned is to stay away from the negative posts on here or you will work yourself into a frenzy. Believe in yourself and study hard and take the test when you feel that you are ready no one can judge that but you. GOOD LUCK and keep me posted now on how it goes. :wink2:

Just coming from NCLEX ( Getting pop ops blocker )
I hope so I have used the Saunders book all the way through school to help with my nursing exams. Even our instructor pulled questions from the book. I am still doing questions from the saunders CD and using the nursing made insanley easy mneumonics book that we used during our exam review. Just pray for me I will take it next tuesday and the closer it gets the more nervous I get Well it looks like you pased with the "Tric" so far it has been right everytime. Let me know when you get the official results. I live in North Carolina so we have the quick results. but two of my friends took it a little over a week ago and have already had their results mailed to them. So maybe you won't have to wait so long. I like your tips and will usr them and hopefully i can join you soon as being an LPN.

Failed 2 Fundamentals tests - HELP!
It is sort of hard to use the Saunders book until you get into the systems but I did use mine and the Test taking strategies book really helped me I finished my program with A's in all three semesters. Just read your material and reread it and read it again. Once you find out how to answer the questions on the tests it will become second nature. I am taking my NCLEX on the 25th so I have been taking tests on the Saunders CD to. So that book really helps. Good Luck and maybe your instructor can help some more let me know if you need anything and I will try and help you as much as I can.
