  1. due to the increased number of ien applicants that srna are processing it will take some time for them to give you a real-time update of your eligibility... i suggest you keep your patience and it will come up just when you don't expect it... i don't think the canadian embassy will issue the visa without the srna eligibility, they may have the visa for you but they wont release it without having that eligibility, as that is one of their primary requirements..
  2. regina or saskatoon would be alright.
  3. ORT/LPNs can scrub too provided they undergone training or OR courses. RNs do scrubs...

  11. Im a walk-in applicant.. Still depends on what areas your in to.. ward is always busy and understaff, of course... Im in OR, which is not as pressured and stressful as in the ward..
  12. The Health Region delegation will fly to Manila sometime next week, they will recruit at least 300 nurses to fill-up various position in different regions...Saskatoon Health Region are one of them.. so far my experience with SHR are very good... Definitely not a mistake to hire Filipino nurses... Goodluck to all applicants!

  14. I suggest you guys get the official "CRNE Prep Guide" by the Canadian Nurses Association... You can check thier website at www.cna-aiic.ca Its a bit expensive but its worth it...
  15. Why not try Saskatchewan Canada???? Unlike BC,Ont. or AB..... you will only require to passed IELTS, had at least 1,125 hours of clinical exp..proof of your nursing education, valid PRC registration, and with a good moral character... My registration took only less than a month, I started contacting them July 22 got my CRNE eligibilty August11 (but that was 2006)..I heard right now it takes 1-2 months, still not bad eh.. But theres a draw back...The Winter... yesterday's temp drop to -50.. at some point that time, were even colder than Siberia,Russia! But still, SK is good specially Saskatoon, quite, small city with a very good number of Filipino immigrants... interested?
  16. Your wife can work legally in Canada, you can include her on your application for Temporary Work Permit as accompanying dependent, she will get an Open Work Permit and if you have kids, they can come too under Study Permit if they are on schooling age..and if you where successful, you can change the status to a permanent resident in a years time if you'll get your RN. Salary as GN varies in each provinces.. I started @ 23.20/hr as GN in SK..I guesse BC would be higher like 24-26?
  17. Got the result today... its says "PASS" :)
  18. Better to go thru work permit..if you have your job offer and LMO with you..processing time for work permit in Manila takes 4-5months.. nominee are from 6months to 1 year..
  19. Labor Market Opinion One needs to get a positive LMO in order to work in Canada, the Human Resources and Skills Development of Canada (HRSDC) determines that the job does not competes with Canadian and have a positive impact for labour market.. Employers applies for LMO
  20. Please read processing time for temporary work permit in the Phils. http://geo.international.gc.ca/asia/manila/visas/servstan-en.asp If you already have a job offer,LMO and eligibilty from CRNBC you can start the immigration process....
  21. Please read previous threads above....
  22. Check this out! http://www.cno.org/international_en/index.html or PM me..
  23. Thanks for sharing, When you land in Canada, did immigration ask for a funds with you? Are you the principal applicant? What visa your husband have? Was it an open work permit or same as what you have? Thanks again.
  24. I did used NCLEX materials and few CNRE guide book, I passed the NCLEX but I failed CNRE. You really cannot use US standard for Canadian exam, its totally different..questions are different (multiple choice & enumeration) even the choices are tricky.. It confuses me a lot! I'll sit the Oct CNRE, and this time I'll use more Canadian practice exam. The problem is, theres not enough review books that you can find, even in the web...If anybody knew where we can get hold of a good materials...please share it to us!
