  1. I am currently a student of LICHSON and 3/4 of what Tocumen said is untrue. You guys out there please make up your own minds & don't let negative people keep you from ur dream. The answer to the eye question on a test as stated was NOT to cover the eye as this would / could possibly push said object deeper into the eye -- the OP is incorrect -- Please make up your own minds. I am a 2nd semester A student and everything I know I learned at LICHSON --- people need to know how to critical think -- no school will spoon-feed you & no matter where u go ALL professors will not hold ur hand -- you must be INDEPENDENT thinkers!!
  2. Hello everyone out there in cyberspace. Have a question for you. Am in my third week of nursing school, my pharmacology teacher is from Asia, very soft-spoken and seems a little intimidated by the 90 students she has to teach. This is the 3rd week of this class and students are always talking over her and carrying on their own discussions / lectures. Today i got so mad with one girl who sat infront of me and keep explaining some med-math to the girl sitting behind me, which drowned out the teacher's voice. I eventually snapped at her that i cound not hear one word being said after politely waiting on her for some 10 - 15 minutes to be quiet. How has everyone else dealt with this situation, I don't want to create issues but every week is the same behavior. thanks all for listening
  3. Agree 100% to all the mentioned fears ---- wake up in the night sometimes with that fear.
  4. am currently a mortgage underwriter, makes great money but was not fulfilling the deeper calling --- had open heart surgery in 1997 and have always wanted to give something back and feel i can be a great advocate for both sides of the coin and an even better nurse because of it. been toying with the idea for a very long time but while sitting at my desk last year, got a clear thought "go back to school" so i answered GOD's call finally and here I am --- begin August 20.
  5. Hello there everyone, beginning August 20, going on a cruise Aug 50- 12 come back and school begins the 20th, super super excited. Also am scared.
  6. Oh Mystix, soooo happy for you, kept following you everyday. congrats to you and Shmitty too.
  7. gigi15 replied to shmitty3's topic in New York Nursing
Hi Shmitty3 you get a call for an interview and then a letter of acceptance in the mail. good luck
  8. Hi Wsmith -- I am also taking the NET there next Friday morning --- already took the NLN for LICHSON and went in for an interview -- just waiting on the official word, whatever that may be. thanks for your response.
  9. Nothing --- No one else in the NY area know of these schools --- come on guys -- :thankya:
  10. Hi All! anyone on this forum about to attend, graduated or is currently attending either of these schools, if so how is / was the experience and which one would you choose if you had a choice. thanks for your input and all will be sincerely appreciated:uhoh21:
  11. I have to say I agree with Suesquatch, no one is ever given extra time on tests that have a time limit, also to come back in next day to finish, that is not a test, with someone being able to go home and look up the answers, seems unfair to the other kids who have studied and finished their tests on time!
  12. Batman!! Simply Wonderful score, u are sure to make it into ur program. Who oh!!
  13. Hello to all u guys still waiting... All the best of luck, i usually go on the site from work, but our systems have been down. Batman -- my fingers are crossed for you. All the best!!
  14. WOW! that positively excellent, that must be the highest score EVER! Thanks everyone on the congrats for my meager score.
  15. Hello everyone, got my NLN results yesterday, made 128 composite and 94 percentile. Did better on the math than i thought i did especially since i ran out of time and guessed the last 10. did the best on the verbal section and worst on science, which surprised me since i love math and science. Thank God this is over, now on to the next worry --- waiting for the acceptance letter. All the best to those waiting and still to take the test.
  16. HI Chuck, i live in the NY area and have researched schools for about the last year and a half -- would you mind sharing some of the NJ hospital based schools -- as i am also applying to 4 schools. thank you, the CC are too difficult to get in and some have varying pre-reqs -- so i tried to choose the one's i thought gave me the better shot at getting into. thanks a million
  17. Hi All, i think 500 N was the correct answer and here's how i worked it out -- 1 lb is equal to 4.45 newtons , so if the human weighed approx 112 lbs x 4.45 N then the answer is 498.4 N approx 500 N if you round it off
  18. Hi Batman, i feel your pain exactly, i took the test 2/23 and math is usually my strongest, well i ran out of time, had to guess tha last 10. But i'm right there with you, i studied that book front and back and in retrospect i could not have prepared any more. i did finish on the verbal and science sections ---- but alas ---- must wait for the results as i cannot reall half of the questions and have no clue on how i did. best of luck to you and eeryone else.
  19. Oh my! so sorry GloriveeM, i thought as long as u have a 55% u passed, is this not the case? i took mine last friday and am so scared, i felt i got the harder version of the test, the math or the science did not mimic the study guide at all. To Lindie, i feel the same way, abou the math section, did not finish and had to guess the last 10, did finish the verbal and science, but will have to wait to see where i stand, thank God for this board where there is so mych love and support because the non-nursing family and friends do not understand the struggle. Does anyone know the average length wait for the results? pl advise sincerely
  20. Worried sick now that i have actually taken the test.
  21. well hi guys, I took the dreaded NLN yesterday 2/23 and I am not sure how i did, I studied from the Mary McDonald guide and thought i was pretty good at it. On the actual NLN test i got by fine with the verbal part, which was my biggest worry going in, the math which i thought was my best part, i think i did horrible at, i ran out of time and i had to guess tha last 10, the science part was so much different from the study guide, many many differnt types of questions, not much A & P, a lot of Physics and chemistry questions, had the one about the weight in Newtons, i choose 50, had the ? about who AB can donate to, i choose AB only, did not know the answer at the time just tried to reason it out, but later found that the answer was correct, hope i can help someone else out. I guess I got the nightmare new test a lot of you on this board seemed to get. Am very disillusioned about what the results will be. HELP!!!!!
  22. Great thread, keep your chin up guys, there are a lot of us women in your shoes, sometimes, MEN bite the hands that fed them -- but life is a circle. Keep looking forward. Things always seem worse before getting better.
  23. Hi All, I just applied for Laguardia's Spring / Fall program --- hoping to get in but am also applying elsewhere. Am done with all the pre-reqs. Anyone currently in their program? How is it? and what GPA were you accepted with? Is there an entrance test? Please share the wait is killing!!!!!
  24. Hi , I am very interested in this thread, as i am also currently applyiny to a couple of schools, my GPA is 3.3 and i don't think that can cut it for CUNY. thanks
