Hi I am a LPN, I graduated in June and passed my nclex in August. I didn't find a job until September. The job that I have is farther then I want to travel but it's a job and I do like it. Keep looking and putting in applications and something will come through. What part of CT do you live in?

I pretty sure that they way that it works is you can take the Nclex in any state but you will be licensed in the state of your nursing program.

I'm a new grad LPN, I get paid $25.17/hr plus an extra $1.00 weekend diff. with full benefits. I live in CT and the cost of living is pretty high.

St Vincent's does have a part time evening program. This is from there website "Students may enroll for less than 12 credits a semester, and complete the required curriculum on a part-time basis. Taking nursing courses on a part-time basis usually requires three (3) years for completion. Faculty advisors will assist students in planning their course schedules in order to complete the program within five (5) years. Courses taught during evening hours will also include weekend days." No you are not alone, I feel the same way and I know others also feel this way. There is no way that we can learn everything that we need to in school, most of our learning will come on the job. You made it through school, that was hard part, now go and become the great nurse that you know you can be.

Hi, I graduated from Bullard Havens in June and I wasn't approved for maximum financial aid but I did receive some financial aid. We weren't initially told how much we were approved for but once we were told, the balance had to be paid a.s.a.p. There was a girl that didn't receive any financial aid and she didn't have the money to pay so the dismissed her from the program. I don't understand why if you got the maximum financial aid you would have to pay anything. Have you gotten anything in writing stating that you were approved?

Hi Momofthree, Good luck. I don't think there is a percentage of how many people pass or fail at any number. I took my test today also but my test cut off at 85 questions and I feel like I failed. People both pass and fail at 75/85 and 205/265.

I took the NCLEX-PN this morning and the test shut off at 85. I felt so dumb walking out of there .I felt like I didn't know anything but I do know that I got the last question right and I don't think that I was doing bad enough to shut off at 85 and not keep going, so hopefully I passed. This is going to be the longest weekend ever. I feel sick. :barf01:

I go to Bullard Havens in Bridgeport. I got a 56 out of 60 on the math and a 28 out of 33 on the reading portion of the NET. I'm not too sure how much they base your scores on admission though because I know a few peope that took the test twice. I do have a daughter, she is in the first grade and it's great not to have to get a babysitterwhen there isn't any school. Several of the people still work while in the program with no complaints. The work isn't hard at all, it's all about time management. Good Luck

Hi, Can any of you tell me when Bridgeport Hospital accepts applications?

Hi, I am in the process of taking this route, I will be graduating from one of the state programs in June. The program cost about $5,000 compared to $31,000 at Lincoln Tech. I still have to take a few pre-requisites so I am going to start doing that in the summer and apply to a RN program next year. There are many opportunities for LPN's in LTC and in assisted living facilities, some hospitals also hire LPN'S like Yale in their clinic and Stamfrod Hospital so you will be able to work and make pretty good money while you continue your education. Most LTC's start anywhere from $22-28/hr and if you worlk for an agency it's a little hire but you don;t have benefits. If you are interested in the state programs, the next class starts in August the website is http://www.cttech.org/lpn/index.htm. Also the program is 18 months but you have the summer off and many holidays off during the year, the program runs under the highschool calendar which is a plus especially when you have kids.
