  1. How do you like it so far?
  2. How do you like the program so far?
  3. Got my letter as well. Sooooo excited!!!and nervous!! Fun to be had by all. Congrats to everyone!!!
  4. I have heard many nurse voice this very statement. Seems nursing adm is telling the staff that if "their patient satisfaction scores don't improve nurses and techs will need to look for another job". You know nurses aren't selling shoes!!! It isn't about sales or is it?
  5. Disorganization can you give me some examples? I am pretty good at rolling with the punches and I bet classmate support helps too. Glad to hear you don't have any regrets. Do you feel like you got what you needed to pass the NCLEX or have you already passed?
  6. Hey Thanks whitescrubs2012 for the information. Great to know. I wonder why the SIM isn't used; maybe no instructor or time? I so appreciate this information.
  7. Well said. Made me stop crying in my cornflakes for sure. The way I am approaching the chaos of denial vs acceptance is to stay positive. It is what it is and something better is being prepared is what I keep telling myself. I sooooo would love to attend Rush University School of Nursing BSN to MSN but the $67K tuition (out of state) stopped me in my tracks. I too am at the point after this semester (completing Stats) I can apply for BSN programs as I already have one BS degree. Where I live I feel like my 20+ years as a nurse (LPN/LVN) and a BS degree are just not valuable assets looked at. It is all about GPA, TEAS or HESI scores...no experience or degrees are considered. I am a tenacious person that enjoys learning so I am seeing all of this experience as a test of my will. I will do it.
  8. Congrats dhibler32 on getting accepted. Great job!! Way to go!! I know everyone has worked so hard to get into nursing school; something to be very proud of.
  9. Hi Jessicainsantafe. Is this SFCC in NM ADN program? Congrats. You can PM if you prefer. Thanks
  10. Does CNM have a SIM hospital? How are labs handled? What is the teacher student ratio in class and clinical settings. Do you use any of UNM facilities?
  11. When you retake A&P, utilize the learning center, find a tutor and get in a study group. Chin up you can do it!! Sounds like you have the lab down. Don't just memorize understand the concepts. juz my two pennies...........
  12. What school do you attend? You can private email me at [email protected]
  13. Thank you so much for this information. I take the TEASV tomorrow and I have prepared like maddie. I hope to do well. However, it will be what it is going to be. My difficulty will be to breatheeee and if I come across a question I don't know just analyze it answer best I can and tell myself this is the question they don't score....it is so much in the calmness....so take it easy and let the positive energy surround you..we have no control of the material just the way in which we approach it. Good luck to all.
  14. Thanks corizrf for the information. I have a 3.7 in sciences and a 3.7 GPA along with a BS degree and an LVN lisc. (Hesi-90 for CNM prior to taking algebra would have a mucho better score now) I will be taking the TEAS this Friday (Jan 11). I have taken a practice did ok but I was not impressed. So I have been studying for several months now. Will take another practice test tomorrow and then off to the test Friday. Did you take a practice before the real deal? Was the practice score a close indicator of how you did on the real test?
  15. Whitescrubs, So did you go to CNM or SFCC? How was it? Are you finished?
  16. It is my understanding one has to take the teasV test not the HESIA2 to apply at SFCC. Does anyone have different information that this. Has anyone taken the HESIA2 and the teasV did your scores differ much. I have taken the hesi and will be taking the teasV Friday. I did one of the online practice test a month or so back. Tomorrow I plan to take another practice to see if my studying has paid off. Has anyone taken a practice test? Did your score on the practice vs real test have much difference? Appreciate any information. I too plan on applying at SFCC and CNM. Would love to apply at UNM but need two more prereqs. I have one BS degree so whats another.....lol "-)
  17. Wow thanks for sharing your story. I am 54 and have returned to college to get my nursing degree after being and LVN for 28 yrs.
  18. Congrats. Great information as I will be applying for the SFCC and CNM myself for an excelerated program. Do you know what the avg TEAS scores were as I still need to take this. Thanks to all that posted about SFCC and CNM.
  19. Glad for the delight in results. Wonder if the patient was in the hospital long after surgery?
  20. Broad question but I am just curious - how good is the outcomes of LVAD patients? Quality of life - post-op, length of stays post-op. What if a pt can't take Coumadin can they still receive a LVAD? I don't know much about this area and I am a new nursing student. After reading many articles the above questions come to mind. Any veteran nurses in a cardio unit that deals with LVADs willing to give me some information?
  21. Seeking graduates or students that have attended Hill College LVN to RN transitional program. Would love to hear about your experience.
  22. Collin County by far is a much more organized college. El Centro is not student friendly. Just my two cents.
