  1. Here's a facebook group for nurse residents starting in October https://www.facebook.com/groups/914776802473851/about
  2. I took and passed my NCLEX in July. Good luck! I'm sure you'll ace it ? What units are you all going to start on? I'm in the ED observation unit.
  3. Oh wow, I honestly kind of gave up hope I'd ever get it but I actually got my preference form today!
  4. Is there anyone else who has been accepted for the residency cohort starting October 2021?
  5. Not sure if you'll get this message, but did you find the program difficult while working? After the initial two courses, do you recommend doubling up? Or taking classes one at a time?
  6. Thanks ? I think (and I'm absolutely assuming) it seems that prospective applicants with a BSN or those who have past experience working in a hospital get noticed quicker than those with an ADN. This is part of the reason why I'm already entering a RN to BSN program even though I just graduated.
  7. Just wondering, does your friend have a BSN or ADN?
  8. Yes, the applications I submitted - some of them did say the deadline was the 12th which is why I completed them in the afternoon. I honestly wouldn't even know who to email though, but I know my submissions were completed in time.
  9. I'm still waiting. Applied to several locations, haven't heard back at all.
  10. I'm starting on the 27th too ? If you don't mind sharing, what unit/facility are you on?
  11. Hi, could I ask your opinion on working on a neuro/ortho floor? I've applied but never had clinicals in this type of environment. It's been labeled as ortho/neuro but still medsurg and I'm not sure what to expect at all.
  12. Hi! Did you also get to complete the assessment that was mentioned? When I submitted my application, nothing came up.
  13. The only one I saw was for transplant pcu but I had applied to some of the fall residencies too!
  14. That's interesting. I've submitted two residency applications and never got the option to complete an assessment with them. That's probably a really good sign for you! Just wondering, do you already have your BSN or experience working in a hospital?
  15. Did they email you a link to take the assessment?
  16. THR makes you sign a contract committing to working there for a few years if you get accepted to the nurse residency, right?
  17. Thanks! My best advice sounds cliched but I truly mean it: if you find you are struggling with content or understanding NCLEX style questions- whether this is during Fundamentals or Med Surg, do not be afraid to ask your professors for help. Do not wait until the last minute or when you are near failing to speak up. They genuinely want to see you succeed. Also, utilize the skills lab, take the time to practice your skills, so you pass your check offs the first time.
  18. I graduated from the nursing program at Mountain View. It's a great program and you'll be well prepared to take and pass the NCLEX by the end of it. Good luck! ?
  19. Is anyone entering the neuro/ortho unit?
  20. Just figured out the messaging system, sent you a PM.
  21. Hey! I'm also in the DFW area and just had an interview at an HCA hospital. Could I send you a message to ask you some questions about your experience?
  22. I can't recall if this was ever answered, but on the (external) candidate profile page, does it mean anything if under the 'jobs applied' section -- the text of "we are currently reviewing all applications" is red instead of black, or is it just a system thing?
