  1. And your comments are exactly what is wrong with our society today. Very sad that you make harsh, rash judgments and decide to start degrading as a weapon. I don’t feel like I need to offer citations, this is a social media forum, not a court of law. I did offer several facts all of which are easily found if you want to look. I actually am quite busy at the moment, if I get bored I may copy and paste them for the rest of the ones reading this, but you can just as easily look them up. I however am done communicating with you, I don’t need bullies taking up my precious time. ✌️
  2. This made me laugh out loud. I’m not poorly informed at all. Thanks for the laugh.
  3. You wouldn’t need emergency approval if testing was complete. ? While building blocks were already there, there has never been a mRNA vaccine nor one for any of the coronaviruses. Significant differences.
  4. If you have to ask this question that makes me wonder how much you’ve researched it and how your critical thinking skills. A new technology, skipped testing phases, rushed to market with significant side effects are just a few of the reasons. It’s 100% OK to not want to be a part of the experiment. It’s also OK if you want to, but again, personal medical decisions are best left that way. Personal.
  5. ER nurse here and couldn’t pay me any amount to take it. You’re not wrong to feel hesitant or to not want to be coerced. We all need to stand up for ourselves and for each other. Personal medical decisions should remain between you and your doctor. Hugs.
  6. You all literally make me tired. LOL. There is not enough science to back this kind of recommendation. Period. Too many ifs and mays, not enough fact...and you absolutely can not extrapolate out our exposure profile to the general public...IF you are potentially asymptomatic, you MAY be able to transmit, and MAYBE a mask might help contain some droplets IF you by chance cough or sneeze -but you’re asymptomatic so how much sneezing/coughing is being done???, but virus particles of positive patients are found on the outside of the mask after sneezing anyway...and mask wearing does come with risks and side effects...no, the what if game doesn’t win imo or make sense. I’m turning off notifications now because this is just a circular conversation now.
  7. Goodness. Seems like everyone wants to just argue and pick without really reading. It doesn’t matter who posted it or if they took it down, the fact remains they cannot filter viruses and there’s even a question about droplets...I’ll reiterate what I’ve already said, and still say...they are 100% ineffective at filtering viruses. At best they can filter droplets which you can also achieve by covering your mouth and nose when you cough/sneeze. It’s not an effective strategy or one that’s recommended elsewhere for healthy people to mask. Also masking is not risk free, so to require it without having a clear benefit is ridiculous.
  8. I also never said it was like the seasonal flu...and it’s not wrong at all, it clearly shows flu is less...baloney asked what other diseases were more deadly.
  9. “Are you not understanding” or reading the posts??? That’s exactly what I said in my first post. ??‍♀️ All they can do is reduce droplets, which can also be achieved by covering your mouth when you cough and sneeze. Hygiene 101. Thanks for recalling what I already said. ?
  10. I realize there are significant differences on both sides! That doesn’t mean the claim or study isn’t applicable. The truth is these masks simply cannot filter viruses. And some of the crazy things I’ve seen people do are driving in them (so they are in them for much longer than just the grocery run), leave them sitting in their car (not washing and reusing them), touching everything in sight and then adjusting the mask, pulling it down to eat, putting it under the nose...they are quite literally bringing more virus and bacteria particles to the mask where it has exhaled droplets for them to incubate right at the mouth and nose. It is all mind baffling. LOL Also in that pic I just put up, I think the surgical mask they are using is a level 3 which I have not seen the public have. At most the ones I’ve seen are level 1 and can’t filter viruses at all.
  11. That was in response to the risk to pediatrics, so it’s very important in evaluating a pediatric risk.
  12. I’ve had a bunch of appts today and haven’t been able to read yours, but I will when I get 15 uninterrupted min to myself!! Those are just ones that I’ve seen recently without having to spend much time, but I do feel they are still worthwhile. If they aren’t helpful for healthcare workers who are trained in infection control, good practices such as not touching the face/mask, hand washing, then it certainly isn’t going to be any better in the general public!! But it’s just basic fact that those masks cannot and do not filter viruses. ?‍♀️
  13. Actually, you accused me of not caring about children and ignoring risks (emotional response as well as rude and inaccurate). I have already provided links for the science, which you have not done, showing your opinions are not fact based. If you call that challenging thinking, there’s really zero point in conversing with you. The only question you asked, you can easily find the answer to by looking, but there are many many more diseases that cause far greater death and suffering than covid does. Here’s one simple graph, but you can look for yourself if you’re actually interested. There is a very low complication rate especially if you take out those in nursing homes and those with comorbids. Now I really am done with responding to you as you show great difficulty in responding civilly and that’s my right to not engage and continue conversations such as this, and that does not mean I don’t have the right to post. But thanks for continuing the condescending baloney.
  14. That’s extremely rude and condescending and I will not continue a conversation in this manner. I’m sorry that the science doesn’t match your level of panic and fear. ?
  15. Here’s a couple. Also interesting to note that since mask wearing became popular, hand washing, which is very important, is viewed as not as necessary. I’m sure you can look and find more if you want to, but you don’t need a study to know that cloth and surgical masks do not/cannot filter viruses. The particles are so much smaller than the viruses. A lot of the mask manufacturers have that actually printed on the box if you look at the box itself. Also interesting to note is that it’s just a theory that asymptomatics can transfer disease, and there is a study out there that looked at an asymptomatic that did NOT infect 455 people he came in contact with. Also important to note is the majority of facilities are not and have not been overwhelmed, thus the significant issue of layoffs, furloughs and hiring freezes. https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/5/4/e006577 https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3349234 https://news.gallup.com/poll/310400/new-April-guidelines-boost-perceived-efficacy-face-masks.aspx https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32405162/?fbclid=IwAR2UUZGqCT4yCfq0L1PMWhp1aSIh1H_-zJDCr38TAvkfx_D4L8Own7s9NaU
