How old are you? What do you think about waiting another year? How about applying to other public schools that are farther away from where you currently live? How are you situated income-wise? Most people here would probably advise you to think carefully about taking on the debt burden associated with any private school, unless you are willing to deal with that debt. Remember that not all nursing graduates get jobs immediately after passing the NCLEX, so you have to figure that into the equation. Good luck with your decision.
I am 23, will be 24 soon, I am really tired of waiting...but its been almost of year, I don't want to keep waiting...my plan is to do BSN RN in AUHS, It's 60000 or less, beacuse i have done all the pre classes already. But its BSN so the price is not that much, I am already LVN and currently make good money and have some saved up for that option. since, I want to get the BSN out of the way, So I can apply to MSN programs afterwards to do my NP, MOst of the school i have talked to accept AUHS accreditation, I think i waited long enough, I am really motivated, i have saved money and have support system, I believe i can do it,
but that part of me says no and wait.
Please anybody reading, your input is needed, feel free to post!! i would really appreciate it!!

You're not old alright, you're still young. Seems like you need to go to grad school or beyond for your goal of becoming an NP. I can't believe that the associates program are somewhat pretty competitive now...I mean BSN programs are already hard and darn competitive to get into as a transfer student. if you are going to wait a year out, have you considered retaking the teas test if the schools you apply to required them? I think it could have been a make or break situation since the test is quite important. if I were in your shoes, I would apply again but retake the teas test or the test required.
private school is pretty expensive and I'm not sure how much easier it will be to get into the program. Did you check if they give first priority to their own students who attend that university in regards to accepting nursing applicants? If that's the case they will have to accept their own internal students first and then consider other applicants such as transfer students, etc.
If a voice within you says to wait then perhaps that's what you should do. is there anything else you can do to improve your GPA, your total points for applying ? If there is I think you should do it.
@dorkypanda Thank you for responding, Even though, I might not be old (jk), but I feel depressed, because i have not got into schools, just alternates or wait listed, The school I am applying is BSN program, its CCNE accredited, I just want to get this out the way, so I can apply to NP programs, Afterwards, This is my main goal, its 2 and half year, program, I will be done and I am really motivated, I mean i want to move on with my life, But i want to have safe future, before i commit to any family planning stuff lol.
I'm in the process of applying to cc right now. I'm getting anxious about if I can get in or not since they go by a point system and there's too many different group of people who can apply.
i guess you have nothing to lose. Just apply and see what happens and go from there?
That whole settle down thing can definitely wait since school comes first

You want to "get the BSN out of the way" so you can move on. Slow down there speedy. You need to take one step at a time. No matter how much you want something you have to accomplish what you can each day. Ok.you want to be a NP. Got it..now put that in your back pocket and focus on the task at hand. Getting a BSN is NOT easy. If you get bad grades on your BSN you can forget becoming an NP. Don't put the cart before the horse. I remember back when I was in nursing school the ones who talked all the time about becoming this and that never even graduated. Instant gratification is not a part of nursing. You have to implement patience and time and hard work. THEN the rest falls into place.

The private nursing program that you're considering is not regionally accredited, so you will definitely have issues with future transferability of credits if you wanted to return to school to earn a MSN or PhD. Please keep that in mind when deciding which path to take.

I highly discourage a man accredited BSN program that costs $60k esp since you are planning to go on to get another degree. Debt is real and it is not fun. I am 35. I have a previous bachelors and masters degree. I am starting an ADN program in the spring to avoid as much deft as possible. Getting an RN is a really important step on your path and not something "just get over with". I plan on bridging immediately after graduation. That will still be less expensive than going to the state school BSN program. The total cost will be approx $16k for ADN and RN BSN bridge
At 23 you still have a lot of life to live and you don't want that kind of debt hanging over you. Trust me. Been there done that.
