I'm trying to get an idea as to where LVN's are employed, and what salaries are around the country. Particular areas of interest: Orange County, CA and Austin, Texas. Thanks!
1. How much do you make as a LVN/LPN?
2. What is your job?
3. F/T or P/T?
4. What are your hours/shift?
5. Where do you live (city/state)?

Right at $16/hr after five years in same job. Night shift diff is about $2/hr, weekends are about $1.25/hr. Bonus pay is $3/hr if scheduled less than 72 hrs in advance, $7/hr if scheduled more than 72 hrs in advance but after the official schedule is posted, $10/hr if pre-scheduled on the advance planner. So if I work a pre-scheduled bonus OT shift on a weekend night, I can make about $29/hr for the first four hours of the shift and about $39/hr after the OT kicks in for the last eight.
I work on a tele/oncology floor in a county hospital
F/T with OT/bonus whenever possible...I've got a family to support!
12 hr night shifts (1845-0715)
I work in St. Louis MO

Howdy, I am long-time LPN (15+ years ) @ hospital in Cookeville, TN. which is small city on I-40. I make $17.38 hour,( topped out )before deductions.I work on medical/ oncology floor ,night shift, 7 P-7:45 AM. Shift diff is $1.50 hour. Full-time.I like where I work but RN's get all the respect. LPN's are treated like "less thans".

New Yorker here that makes $40,306 per year working in a hospital clinic (full time) with weekends/holidays off working the 'late clinic' (Mon, Wed, Fri from 10-6:30pm and Tues, Thurs from 12:00 to 8:30pm). I also work per diem for several agencies, one doing med-surg per diem, another as a vaccination nurse for the US Armed Services. These other agencies pay $27 and $30 an hour respectively. Have been respected thus far at all places. It was true that in the beginning, many tried to discourage my choice to be an LPN, but as they began to see my work ethic and professionalism, I gained a great deal of respect from the RNs, physicians, etc... Those that don't, well...I work for money and self satisfaction, not for approval.

$23.75/hour. $0.95/hr diff for eve/wknds
$1.60/hr diff for overnights
$2.90/hr extra in lieu of benefits/holiday pay/sick time
LPN in 2 different LTC facilities (hospital LPN's make the exact same $$, same union and collective agreement)
Casual at both, hope to become permanant soon. That would end the extra $2.90 per hour, but then benefits are fully employer paid and so worth it.
Any shift 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am. But I try to avoid the overnights, I'm a wreck without the proper sleep!!!
I'm in BC, Canada :)

Native Texan here from Ft.Worth(Sounds like I shouldn't have left) living in SW Florida. I work for the state as a school nurse making $13.50 hr., Mon-Fri, 7-3pm. Most LPN's start at $16.00 here without experience. Experience gets you $18.00-20.00hr and if you work for an agency it is $25.00 hr. That's all without benefits. The state provides oodles of benefits so technically I make about $16.00 if you count the benefits and pension.
