She's been gone for 3 weeks(family stuff), we are supposed to have a test(#2) over chapters 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 next
Tuesday. She started chapter 5 Today!!!
She makes us do homework; I go to the web for information. She deducts 50 Points because she doesn't like the
"web stuff."
I got my results from our first test and of course, I failed it!!! None of the questions were from what she 'flew'
in the first 3 weeks.
I am stuck; I can't drop this class as I need it for my pre-reqs and I can't afford to pay this horrendous amount
of money again.
What can I do to prepare for this class? Reading the material, taking notes, taping and making flash cards are
not helping(maybe it's the APII, too) but I am at my wit's end.
Please, all you ladies and gents that have that super brain power, help!!!!!

i'm sorry about your predicament! it seems as though we all run into instructors that
aren't orgnaized and do not prepare us well for exams.
the good news is that you know what to expect for her next exam. you may have to pull some all nighters but try to remember what you are working towards. in another few months this class will be behind you, never to torment you again!
good luck
Such wisdom from one so young:)
Thanks so much, I really needed to hear that!
I think I'll keep studying even harder and see how the next test goes.
I just refuse to give her the satisfaction of thinking she 'got rid of another one.'
Thanks again:)

Wow, you must be in my class, only Im taking A&P II. I am in the same boat. I have taken 3 tests and only passed one. He is a terror! Its too late to drop, can't get my money back. So I just decided to change the way that I study. I study at least 2 hrs a day. I make my notes from the book and incorporate his notes.
It must be working because I am able to retain the information a lot better.
Good luck with you, just keep studying; if the way that you are studying does not work, try a different approach. I'll let you know how I do on the next test.

Sometimes when I'm having trouble in a class, I'll just ask the person sitting next to me what they are doing to study for class. Just ask a few minutes before class starts and see what they have to say. It's helped me a lot in the past! :) GOOD LUCK!
Thanks to nurseb4im65 and mlro3,
I have asked the girls sitting next to me. They're in their 20s, say they only 'cram'
or not really study and I have decided to just eat, sleep, and drink this stuff,
because like you, it's too late to drop and who wants to have to go back
through this nightmare again. I only wish it were somewhere closer to me, but
I refuse to give up; let's keep each other posted and believe that we will make it
through this catastrophe!
Thanks so much for being there:)

I hated, hated, micro......my advice go to your instructor ask for her help. Let her know what you are doing, how hard you are working......I would ask for her suggestions on what I needed to do. I remember micro all too well , but I passed and you can too! Good Luck

I think you should complain to the administration that she was absent so much and missed giving lectures. Don't mention your grade on the test, but just say that her schedule is becoming erratic and you're disappointed with the quality of the class. Have them refund your money and take the course again.
You're paying good money for that course and for her to be there. She doesn't have to be the best teacher in the world, but you're taking this class on-site for a reason, and it's not to flush money down the drain. It's unacceptable.

If this instructor has been missing in action for three weeks, I would contact the administration and complain that you are not getting the education you paid for. Surely, some of your classmates feel this way, too. Three weeks is a significant chunk of the semester. To be without your instructor leaves you to basically teach yourself.
Something is wrong with this picture.
You guys are wonderful!
Yes, I do need to go to them but I know they'll 'side' with her as she is the only
instructor they have.
I would love to be able to get my money back and start over some place else.
This class is too important not to be taught it in the right way.
She is a military tyrant who 'claims' to have been an LVN but when I asked her
one time if she kept her license up, she ignored me.
I really believe she should be in the lab and not the classroom.

DOnt worry, I straight up failed an exam in my Micro class, another exam got a D and another a C, the teacher was impossible, took most of us hours to write out a study guide from his help sheet and then he woulnt even test on it....6 chapters every exam, and I ended up with a B...just put tons and tons of hours into it....like someone else said, find out how others are studying. Also in lab if you are dong an "unknown" this is usually lots of points and not over the top hard, so that will help bump up your test grade....I fell on the floor when I saw I got a B...so it is possible
Man, I need to spell check..sorry
