Places to study

I'm preparing to start my program and want to come up with a range of places where I can study. Whereabouts other than the usual (at home at a desk, library, coffee shop etc) do you study?

I'm afraid I don't have any other locations to give you than what you mentioned. I study mainly at home, and when I meet up with classmates, we do it at the school.

I prefer to not be home or not be at a classmates house because I don't get as much done as I'd like to there. I stay after school often and just study in our classroom.

I don't know if there are many other options than that. I study at the library. I don't do well studying at home.

When alone, I studied at home or outside the public library or park. My study group, however, studied everywhere! We would meet for lunch at IHOP or fast food places and eat & study for a few hours, pack our stuff & move to Starbucks for a couple hours, then sometimes back to another food place.

Just got to watch out with the public venues, for some reason non-nursing people trying to eat don't find conversations about BMs/genitals/blood/infections appropriate. ;) lol.

When I was in Health Assessment, I was studying at Panera and it happened to be the chapter on breast. There are a bunch of pictures in the book. Whoops!!

My schools library has study rooms on the second floor that I love. I have an hour between my classes Tuesdays and Thursdays so it's perfect. Otherwise I study at home or Starbucks/Barnes and Noble.

I set a goal for my study time. I study in my school library. Or I lock my office door in my home and I do not come out until my goal is met. :)

I study in all the usual spots too, especially when I'm studying with others. However, I do my best studying when I stick to routine, same place, same snack etc. But, I also have made my car a study spot. I get to class about an hour early and study in the car. Works for me.

I just want to second the suggestion of study rooms in your school's library. Our school library has small group study rooms (one table with 4 chairs) and even individual/partner study rooms (just one counter and two chairs.) I like being in these little rooms better than sitting at a table out in the library, because in the little rooms there is less noise and fewer distractions. I can't study when I can hear other people talking and when they are walking in and out of the room, etc.

I always study the best at a coffee shop without friends. I plug in my headphones playing talk radio and I completely tune it out. I'm able to get more done like that than anywhere else.

At my son's judo practice. That's where I get most of my homework done. He has practice 4 nights a week with tournaments on weekends. It's my only time.

I cannot study at home at all. If i study at home i get involved in random chores and sleep or watch tv. I can only study at home the night before an exam, all night, after everyone has gone to sleep and im stressed... then that leaves me tired the next day but i do well on the exam :)

My fave place to study is in the quiet area in the back of the library. I like to study alone cuz thats when i do the most learning. If i study in a group i am teaching only and not learning which is fine when i dont have an exam. I read and take lots of notes in my quiet study time and i review my notes in my car while i am driving, at stop lights, or in the parking lot before class.
