My Kit Kat has been diagnosed with IBD, and let me just say has it been a struggle! Poor kitty had been having soft, mushy BMs for a while, and the vet finally opted for labs, US, temporary meds (since finished), and diet changes for a 6-8 week trial (currently at week 7). While on the meds, kitty actually had some semi-formed BMs, but has since backtracked to even worse than before. He’s not a fan of the hydrolyzed protein food, so kitty isn’t eating very much. I’ve also got aggression issues from one of my other cats, who doesn’t respect Kit Kat’s territory and will also hiss when Kit Kat comes out of “his” room to socialize.
Anyone else dealing with issues like this and have some tips/tricks to help me out? They are separated during meals because the special food is way to expensive to let them all eat and Kit Kat is absolutely forbidden from having anything else. That’s a change for all of them, because I’d just fill their dishes and whatever wasn’t eaten right away they could come back to munch on at their leisure. I do leave some out at night because the only way I can sleep without having to constantly remove the bully from Kit Kat’s room is to close the door to separate them.
