I was just wondering... what you consider to be an acceptable NCLEX pass rate for an LPN school, and what your school's NCLEX pass rate was/is if you don't mind sharing?

The private school that I'm thinking about attending has an 82% pass rate... there is another school that I'm thinking about going to that has a 100% pass rate, but their LPN program lasts 2 years. Is 82% considered bad? :uhoh21:

I would willingly attend a school with an 82% pass rate. It is not the school's pass rate that will make you pass NCLEX; rather, it is your knowledge, test taking skills, and self-preparation that will result in a passing NCLEX score. Since a 1-year LPN program is so fast-paced, you will need to do plenty of independent studying. In other words, you will need to teach many things to yourself (without the help of an instructor).

The 2-year LPN program probably has a 100% pass rate because their students have had a double amount of time to absorb the mountain of information that was presented to them. The shorter LPN program probably has a lower pass rate because they could not possibly absorb every single detail in 1 year.

I attended a 1-year LPN program with an 84% NCLEX pass rate, and I passed on the first attempt.

My school's pass rate was 95% and I went through a one year program and a nursing/allied health school.

I live in GA, and went to a nursing school with one of the worse reputations, called Atlanta tech. Their pass rates are in the mid to high 80%. I complained alot while i was there. For some reason the school couldn't keep teachers, and the ones there were very unorganized. I would feel like i was teaching myself, and you know what i was. But i passed my Lpn nclex on the first try with 86 questions. Just like people who went to the best nursing school with the best rep. The school doesn't make your education, you do!!!! As long as you have the tools, then you can do it.

My LPN schooling will be 15 months long full-time (they also offer evenings but thats 22 mths long). The NCLEX pass rate for first time testers is 100% for the last 3 (maybe 4) years on all 3 of their school sites for both day and evenings.

I'd go to a school that had a pass rate in the mid/upper 80's.

Hopefully, my class won't be the one to trash the schools 100% pass rate :rotfl: (actually hopefully I won't be the one)

My school's passage rate was 98-99%. I do not know if I would have felt comfortable going to a school that was the low 80's.

I agree with Thecommuter. Since I tend to test well and feel that much of what we need to know is taught on the job I wouldn't worry about the pass rate too much.

The LPN school I went to had a 100% pass rate for the past 6 years. I don't know if everyone in my class that graduated last year all past, but everyone prior to did.

Mine is 100% pass rate for the pass six years for my campus.

Go the BON website for your state and pull up all of the schools and compare them...that is the only way you are going to know.

My school's rate is low, only about 80%. However, it's a new program & until last term they accepted anyone who applied. Finally they are getting more applicants than they have room for & can be picky about who gets in. I believe this will help raise the rate considerably.

The LPN program I went through was one year long and had a 100% pass rate.
