Orientation Attire

What did you or are you going to wear to Orientation? I have no clue what to wear. Thanks!

I was just going to ask the same thing. What should i wear to orientation. Should i wear suite and tie? What dod most guys wear to your orientations?

We just wore normal street clothes.

Do you mean school orientation? I just wore what I'd wear any regular day, but certainly not sloppy looking.

If you mean hospital orientation for a job - we were told business attire and to 'dress to impress'.

I would wear some kind of clothing. :lol2: Sorry, I just had to say that.

If you are going to nursing school orientation just wear the same kind of clothes you would wear to go to any other class unless you get a letter advising you differently. If you are going to a clinical site orientation it's probably safer to wear your clinical uniform.

Aren't you excited? It's finally arrived!

Why not just call the school or your instructor and ask? It wouldn't hurt! My instructor sent us a very nice letter in the mail describing what to wear. The school's policy is 'professional dress' meaning business/office type attire such as dress slacks and blouse, etc. When we get our first tour of the hospital we put on a lab coat with our ID.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I am wearing regular street clothes to school orientation, but not sure about orientation at the hospitals (we go to 2).

Professional business attire. I have a limited wardrobe of "nice" clothes so I have no clue what I am going to wear. I don't think heels would be a good idea to get stuck in for 6 hours at a hospital?

Thanks for the replies.....I was referring to Nursing school orientation. I don't want to go in there in a suit, but I didn't want to be the only one in Jean capris either. Maybe I will wear Khaki type pants and a casual shirt.....I dunno......

And YES I am so excited to attend orientation. I am looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates and instructors! :)

We wore regular clothes to our school orientation and it was not long before people were showing up in their jammies to lectures because they were so early. Now to the hospital orientations for our clinicals we had to be in full school uniform.

Nursing school orientation I just wore jeans, flip flops and a t-shirt. People just wear normal everyday clothes...shorts, whatever you want. It's very casual and fun.

Have fun!

I would imagine normal school clothing would be fine for the campus orientation....we haven't been told otherwise; it's just a little earlier day the first day of class....I would hope before we have any kind of hospital orientation that we will be told the expectations!!

Good luck!

I live in a very casual town. Nobody dresses up for dinner out. I attended an afternoon wedding and saw women there in denim capris. I figure anything that doesn't expose too much of me will be fine. Probably a summer skirt and flip flops. And a top, of course.

People in my class just wore ordinary street clothes. However, you might think about what kind of impression you are making. Why risk offending anyone by dressing in clothing that is revealing or overtly sexy. Remember that people's values differ. Some of the women in my class wear clothing that not only exposes their midriff but low-rise pants that barely cover their mon pubis (I'm not kidding).

I am far from being a prude or a homosexual woman but I'm also a human being with hormones and I sometimes feel manipulated sexually. If cheescake photos were pinned to the wall of the my classroom people would be in an uproar, but it's ok for me to have someone's live, naked torso shoved in my face while I'm trying to learn. That kind of dress is perfectly fine as a "costume" for clubbing and parties, but for school? It's weird. When did it become ok to dress like a whore. But maybe I'm just an old bag...
