Little Susie has a mosquito bite! The horror! How will she ever survive without a trip to the nurse??!?!
Sorry, needed a little vent session after my 6th insect bite visit today. "My teacher doesn't like how this looks and it's itchy."
Amazing I didn't see any of these little darlings during field day yesterday!
Vent over. Happy almost summer to those still in school!

i understand completely!! And despite me telling them over and over that I really don't have anything for bug bites (i don't stock Cort-aid) and suggesting they wash it and leave it alone - you can bet big money i'll see the same kids over and over for the same 4 mosquito bites. Heaven forbid the children experience some minor discomfort.

I will put bandaids over the bite for the younger ones. Out of sight, out of mind. I don't usually see them again after that.

I do the band aid thing too. But I am running low, so I am trying to be choosy about it.
I'm glad it's not just my teachers. Seriously, a mosquito bite is hardly a nurse worthy problem! But I see them all day long.

Bug bites are 20% of my visits at this time of year! I always ask the kids "What do you do for bug bites at home? Do you tell your mom?" I do not want to contribute to a generation of kids/adults who think they need someone to fix everything that happens to them! Sometimes you just itch a little and survive!
YES! And on the topic of band aids, so you all have issues with kids getting hurt at home and not having a band aid? WTH? Go to the dollar store and get a box of strips, people! You have kids, you need band aids.
I have gone through about 4,500 band aids this year. It's insane.

I feel like me and SnowyJ are the only 2 nurses still in school, being NY nurses and all...

Oh no. I'm still in school, too. I'm not done until Tuesday.
I'm done the 24th. Anyone else?
6/26.
6/24 here, and I'm one of the lucky ones in MA...a lot of schools are in until 6/30 with the winter we had.
